Had some time to start on the colored version of the GoW piece for the 2o2p Art Auction.  Not finished yet, still needs some tweaking, but you can get an idea.

Art Auction for 2o2p V. 3.0

So I'm sure you've all heard about the upcoming site redesign to Version 3.0, but you may not have heard that there is going to be an Auction to help raise money to cover the costs of the upgrade. The Auction is going to feature original works of art by site members as well as services offered (such as sig creation, I believe). You can check out further details on BATMANKM's blog . 24 Hour Comic Book Day

is today.  It's a national event where people meet in comic stores and spend 24 hours straight attempting to create a 24 page comic.  Not an easy task.  I had been planning for weeks to attend and give it a try but of course this week my daughter had to go and get sick and then get me sick.  She's nine months old now and teething, add being sick to that and you get parents who haven't slept in days.  I got maybe three hours of sleep last night which was the deciding factor in my not going to the event today.  There's no way I'd make it 12 hours, let alone 24.  Kinda bummed about it, was really looking forward to going this year.

I worked on this for a contest by one of my favorite artists instead:

Sketch Cards

Man, haven't posted a new blog in a while.  Not that I haven't been working on stuff just that it's all submissions to companies or paid work that I either can't post or don't want to put up on the net until it's been properly rejected by said companies.  Well, I whipped these sketch cards up this week for Sac-Con this Sunday where I'll be trying to sell some prints and shit at my own table.  I'll try just selling these for like $1 each or just give 'em away as business cards.  I never really understood the appeal of sketch cards but people really seem to like 'em, hell, I actually had a lot of fun making them.  I'd probably do them again, we'll see how it goes tomorrow though.

Hulk cover finished

Well, here it is. Took a whole hell of a lot longer than I intended. Honestly, I got about 3/4 of the way done and just got really bored with this pic. I forced myself to just finish it up last night and now that it is I am pretty happy with it. There are parts that didn't come out great and parts I hate, but overall a good practice piece for digital painting. I think I now have the confidence to start working on putting together a submission to Marvel for a Cover Artist gig. I have about 6 pieces thumbnailed out and started painting two of 'em already. We'll see how it pans out, I don't really have high hopes, but what the hell, I'll give it a shot.
