The Soul still burns...

So I just read a post about Dead or Alive 4 and I got to thinking. Man, that was the only fighter on the 360 that's worth anything. And it's not all that great. I mean I like DOA4, but it just seems a little wonky. I'd much rather see the Soul Calibur franchise make it's way over to the next gen box. Hell, I'd even settle for a port of Soul Calibur 3! The only thing it'd have to have is online multiplayer. That's a must nowadays. Which brings me to my next topic

Wheather a game is a JRPG, ah...um.... Yeah that's about it. Unless a game is a JRPG, online multiplayer (co-op or whatever) or some kind of multiplayer is a MUST! I don't understand how some companies and developers think that multiplayer is just an after thought. It boggles the mind. Now, I'm not big in the online competetive gaming arena (no clan membership card yet), but I understand that it is leaning more that way. And I accept that. Sorry, just had to say that. Don't know why. No one cares anyway.

Man, I need a new keyboard! Anyone got any suggestions for a good one that doesn't cost a ton of dough?

Audio disappointment

I got this wild hair up my ass and decided to rearrange things in the home. Well, not really rearrange things. More like use the equipment I got. So, I got this 32" Sony TV. No, it's not HD and it's a CRT so don't be envious. Had this thing for a while and it works fine. I also got this Aiwa stereo system (don't bother making fun of me, I bought it a long time ago). So I look on the back of the stereo and I noticed an optical plug! I was so overjoyed with the thought of using my 360's digital audio. Then I got to looking at it and it was an output, not an input. Dammit! Ah well...At least it'll be in stereo instead of using the speakers on the TV. All in all, it worked out OK. It's not a huge difference, but it deffinately sounds better.

Wish I had the money to buy a new receiver and speaker set up. I'm almost tempted to get one with a CD or DVD changer. That would be freakin' sweet. My wife would kill me though. Maybe she'll let me buy one after I sell my PS3 on eBay (yes...I'm one of those bastards)!

Changing tastes

I know that I'm not well known on these boards, but I have to talk about someing.

In the past, I've been a huge RPG and Action fan. RPG's just seemed to have more depth and story to get through. Action games were just the instant gratification that I needed when I only had a couple minutes to spare. Now I find myself enjoying a different type of game and I don't know why. The racing genre has captivated me. I look back at my gaming purchases and I notice that racers are the majority of what I get. Am I turning my back on the RPG's and action games that I've loved years past? Not at all. I'm just getting older and my tastes are changing. Still those games beckon me. It's like a cheesecake that you had too much of and you just want another piece, but you'd explode if you did. I'm sure Gears will bring me back to the pie.

Ok...That wasn't as thought out as it was when I was actually thinking about it. Try not to rip this apart too much, OK?

New bloggy!

OK. So this is the first time that I'm blogging on this site. Normally have a MySpace profile that I post on frequently for my friends, but this will be better for gaming and such.

Alrighty, so about me...Well, My name is Dan and I live in Ohio. I'm very passionate about gaming. I've been gaming for about 23 years now. Since I'm married, I have to try to balance my time with my wife, but it seems to be going alright. I'm sure you can see from my profile that I have all of the major gaming consoles. I think I may not be able to keep the "all consoles" title going this generation. I just don't think I'm going to have the money to do it. I'd love to, but I think Sony killed it for me (Thanks!!!!). I work tech support for a large insurance company and I spend my whole day in front of the computer. It pays well enough, but it does get tedious now and then.

That being said, I'm going to stop typing. My hands are aching a little bit. Carpal tunnel is a bitch, isn't it.

Later!
