freakin WalMart and school shopping

is it just my area, or is all the Walmarts doing the "make overs"? I have known my store for the last 7/8 or so years, can tell ya where things were. Now, they are squishing the shelves together to the point that you can't get 2 carts down the same aisle. WTF? That's in the General household stuff..bedding, dog food, whatever. In the actual food aisle, you can maybe get 2 carts to pass. And that's if the other person doesn't leave their cart in the middle of the fuckin aisle, in which case I just push aside with my own cart.

Today, our 10YO daughter and I were school shopping in Walmart. She sees how frustrated I am and says "calm down Mom" Geez, was I that pissed off? Yeah probably. Come on, you know you don't have that much room...move the fuck over, will ya

And on to clothes shopping. Becca starts school Sept 2. Got all the supplies, got her closet cleaned out of "none fitting clothes". We went to 4 stores today and only got a few items. Ok on the shoes, but now it came to the clothes. Anything I picked out she denied I remember I could pick out anything and she would be ok with it. HAHA, I am such a sucker. She's a 5th grader now, what the hell do I know? It's not like I have been there or anything. Blah..on to the mall tomorrow for more glorious school clothes shopping. yay me!

Thanks Jeep and Todd!

LB and I are back from NC. We visited with Jeep and family, drove around the area looking at potential neighborhoods to move to. I LOVED it down there. So nice and quiet.

We partied with them last night (sorry it was so late!). Thanks for all the info and suggestions. Will give you a heads up on when we will be back down

Don't F*** around in my neighborhood

My neighbors and I are FED up with all these little punk ass kids speeding down our street, spinning wheels, etc. The latest was a bunch of punks wooting at our 10 and 11 YO daughters A few weeks ago we yelled at the ice cream man! Yes, his music was going. What a douche.
So my neighbor sees this truck go by (the one that Wooted at our girls) called me and I went looking for him. No, not to confront the little fucker that has a pretty good chance of running over one or more of the 18 kids on our street, but to find out where he lived. And I got his plate #.
But before I tracked him down, I stopped this lady that was walking a dog..asked her if she saw this truck go by. She said no but asked why. Told her he was speeding and she came back and said "well, tell me where you want the police and I will let my cop friends know and they will be happy to do it"

I believe my neighbor will be calling this guys address and plate # in to the local dept. I just want this stopped before someone gets hurt or killed. I wonder how hard it would be to get speed bumps put in on the street?? Not a bad idea.
Just another year or so and we are out of here. Out to the country, here we come!

Little shit!

Since Kane had a bad reaction to the pollen, he has been put on antibiotics. First tried the peanut butter on a spoon with the pills inside...he spit them out. I can't just put them in his throat and clamp his jaw shut, he won't swallow. Moved on to the bite sized hot dogs. Little shit started spitting them out so he can get another hot dog piece Ahh, this is the last week of pills

well, it happened

Tonight was my clans H3 night. Something I look forward to all week since I don't get a chance to game all that much anymore, but I make it a point to sign on every Thursday. Turn my 360 on, let H3 load up while I am out with my dogs. Come in, the screen is stuck. Fiddle around with the controller...nothing. Off, back on, I get the red and black pixel screen...FUCK. Off, on, I get the frozen 360 icon. Off, on, I get the red ring. Call my hubby who is in Dallas at this time. He says to use his 360 for tonight and we will go back to BB and get a replacement tomorrow when he gets home. My 360 was about 14 months old.
Now, mind you I am not all that great with electronics, although I did manage to hook up his 360 to the cables behind my tv So I load up H3 again in his 360 and my controller won't budge. I call my brother in law and he tells me I have to sync the controller to 360. WTF, LB75 didn't tell me that! So all is good in my world now. I got in with my clan and gamed. Lb keeps telling me to stop breaking stuff while he is gone. Oh yeah, I broke my email acct. I can't send anything
*sigh* this is Curvy's world

Spring is here!

Wow, I can't believe it's here. This is one of my favorite seasons. BUT with Spring, you get...tornadoes. We get those Spring time severe Tstorms. I'm sure you all heard what happened in Suffolk Va last Monday. Well, this happened 3 miles from my dads house, about 40 minutes from my house. SE Virginia doesn't get tornadoes so this has hit home and shaken me into reality. It's some scary shit! Since this is local news, I see the damage everyday. Yeah, we get tornado warnings, and before I have just blown them off until now, but I think the last one that hit around here was in 1970's. It's just so hard to imagine that, for me, I get up every morning and continue with my routine. But just 40 minutes away, people are cleaning up their lives, if they can even find belongings! Houses?? What houses? A bunch of them were totaled..just wiped off the foundation and crumbled to pieces. So my thoughts go out to the people of Suffolk Va.
And with Spring, you get the baby birds just out of the nest that are stuck in your yard with 2 German Shepherds because they can't fly and the dogs really have to pee so you let them out, then the dogs try to chase them. Or the dogs get yelled at so they go do their business and the momma and poppa birds are swooping down at the dogs while they pee. I can't help but to laugh. On a side note, our male, Kane, had to go to the vet for his annual visit..heart worm check (negative), nails clipped, poop sample and to have his skin looked at. Poor guy has been suffering from the pollen and has licked his paws raw. Turns out he has bacteria on his skin and that's from the pollen, ggggrrrr. So $200.30 later we are out the door with 2 weeks supply of antibiotics. And the only way he will take the PILLS, not tablets, is from a spoonful of peanut butter with pills inside.

Only 27 more school days left!! Woo Hoo. I am not a morning person, never have been, never will be (I don't think). Becca is preparing for her SOL's. yeah I know, Pearly laughed when I told her, too. They are the Standards of Learning Tests. Basically your end of year tests. I get so excited this time of year cause I know it's almost over!

Pearly's visit was very nice. She got here at maybe 4 pm, got Chinese for dinner and just vegged out on the couch and talked for the next 4/5 hours. Love meeting new people! And the dogs really loved her!

just more ramblings

so here I sit, 1 am thinking how great, yet trying, it has been the last month or so. LB's job and him working from home has been AWESOME...when he is home. The first week on the job, he spent it in San Diego, then some other trips, then some more. He is due back Thur night, flies out Sunday, then so on and so on. I get it. I understand all this traveling. it's our 9 YO that doesn't. I married him when he was in the navy, stationed on a ship, I did the Military wife thing. Daddy is her hero and gets upset when he leaves. I have tried explaining to her why he is doing this, she still doesn't get it. Although I think it's getting a little better.

So, a couple days before President's Day, LB, Becca and I went to Hooters for dinner. LB has this addiction to their wings (so he says) and I swear I am gonna wake up in the middle of the night to hear him nibbling on his fingers...or mine Becca saw that gum ball machine that if you get a black gum ball, the wings are free. She must have tried like 5 times! She popped one gum ball in her mouth and out popped a loose tooth. A couple days later I took her to her 6 month dental cleaning. New dental tech, no older than 23. As Becca is in the chair and the DT is getting ready to start on her cleaning, the following conversation started...
Becca..watch out, I lost a tooth the other night chewing on a gum ball at Hooters
DT..Who took you to Hooters? (laughing)
Becca..My daddy.
Me..sitting in the chair in corner not sure who to laugh at more...the big eyed DT or what Becca said

Becca will be 10 on April 10th. Ugh! She is growing so fast. We are having her party on April 12th. Finger food plus Hooters wings Time sure has flown. After one more year in elementary school it's off to MIDDLE school! ACK! I am so not ready for this. She is doing much better this year. I like her teacher and I believe the teacher from last year has resigned. Hmm, imagine that! Becca has made the B honor roll this past semester. We are so proud of her!!

Fitness weigh ins for Team Curvy

Hey everyone, it's March 1st and I need just a few more people from my team to complete my list. So get them to me asap.
And everyone else, keep an eye out for MJ's blog in a few days for the results

blah blah blah

Hmm, where to start. The fitness forum! All is going well after ending our 2nd week. I'm not telling the weight loss for some, but I will say that I am very proud of my team! GO TEAM CURVY! And I will say that I myself have lost 5 lbs since Jan 2nd Not too shabby, I think. Feb 1st is our first official forum weigh in. Everyone will weigh in and report to their team leader. All Team Leaders will report that to MJ and he will then post the total loss in his blog, so keep an eye out for it. I am also very proud of everyone that has signed up and participated and has made changes in their lives to make it better for them. I know it's a very difficult thing to do. Keep up the GREAT work!

Big changes in LB's and my home life. As you all know, he posted in his blog that he quit his job this week. I am so proud of him for taking such a big leap to make things better. I know he was miserable. So now he will be working from home. Yes, what a dream job! It's gonna be very very different and I will need, no, we will need time to adjust to him being home all day with me. No, I don't work out of the home. It'll be nice that we will not have to spend so much $$ on gas, on his lunches, etc.

Well now that the Holidays are over and everything is all packed up and put away, the house is back to normal, I have started yet again to work on my genealogy. I have done so for the past 5 years off and on. I have seen a shit load of graves in Pa, where my dad grew up and my family is dated WAAAAAY back to that area. I love doing this and it gets very exciting when you find your ancestors. Just think..back in the 1700/1800's having 15 kids was the norm I mean, can you imagine growing up with 14 sibs? It's interesting to see what they did for a living, where they lived, etc. LB doesn't get it..he laughs at me when I get excited cause I found someone else and their kids, lol. He did install a program for me though. It's called the "Heritage Family Tree". You just put all the info in you have on a person and it tells you that this person is your 5th cousin 10 times removed. It's great. And I have close to 700 names listed! I did find out I am (very distant) related to Louisa May Alcott.
I am having a bit of trouble with some names. So if you live in the Jefferson Co of Pa (or surrounding areas) and you know of Doverspike, Daubenspike, Smith, Rugh/Ruch, let me know, I am having a hell of a time finding them.

Well, that's about all I got for now

update on step dad, and something about the fur-kids

well, he went in on the 22nd, had the operation and was over HERE visiting the next day! He was bouncing off the freaking walls! What I learned though, was that the doc took 2 viles of stones out, containing about 200 stones total. Now, isn't it true that the normal person with stones would have a few? Maybe a few more? I learned that he was born with this condition and will more likely have to have this again. Thanks so much for the thoughts and prayers, I really appreciate it all.

Now, on to the fur-kids. We have 2 german shepherds, Kane and Allie. Love them both to pieces. We got them both from a local rescue group.
As I am laying in bed last night, Allie is on the floor at the foot of the bed sleeping. She starts growling, twitching and whimpering. What was she dreaming about? Kane, on the other hand has never had any of these dreams. In the almost 2 years we have had him, never once have I heard him do this. It is an almost nightly thing with Allie though. A little background... Allie was beaten. I mean someone actually scared the ever loving shit out of her to the point that when we got her, she would not hang around LB75. She was terrified of him, and to this day (a few years after getting her) we still can not hold her paws. We have to have the vet LAY on her to clip her nails! She loves him now though, but it was a hard road to go down. So, is she dreaming about getting beaten?
Kane was abused as well, but it was more neglected. He wasn't being fed and when we got him, I think he only weighed about 50-60 something pounds. He was so sick looking and we could see his bones. I just want to know why people do this? Why have a dog and not take care of it? Why beat them? Just a stern command from us does the trick with them, and that isn't very often that we have to do that. They are the most sweetest dogs I have ever seen. My mom always tells me that she is gonna steal Allie away from us, lol and people that hear their story are amazed at how well they behave for having the past they have. These two are my companions during the day. Well Kane is more of it, Allie wants to stay in the bedroom most of the day. I didn't really start this blog to get answers. I know that not everyone is a dog kind of person, but DAMN, do they have to beat them? I wasn't a dog person when we got Allie, but her behavior towards me made me change my mind. Since she was afraid of LB, she stayed by me most of the time. Well, the first night she was here she slept in our daughters room. It just makes me so mad when I hear stories like this. If we had the room, I would take more shepherds in
Thanks for reading

if you would...

My family needs all the thoughts/prayers as possible. Here is a little run down on my mom. A couple years ago she was diagnosed with having a tumor on her pituitary gland, she also had sleep apnea. All her organs were enlarged, as well as her tongue, waist, feet, hands etc. She has been traveling back and forth to Charlottesville Va for a shot to shrink it. Yes, it has gotten down to a pin head size, but they still need to go in there and get the remains. All seems well with her so far.
Now to my step dad...a bit younger than my mom, just lost his job at the FORD plant in Norfolk, Va. My mom, being the nag that she is, nagged him to get to the doc for a check up. He went and found out he had kidney stones. Mom isn't sure if he had pains or what, he won't tell her, but the doc told him that it is worse than what they thought. They need to perform surgery on him to remove them, to drain the kidney and get the stones out that all lodged in place. He is going in on the 22nd of Dec and more likely will not be home for Christmas My mom also said that if it is worse than they thought, he will lose that kidney. I need all the thoughts and prayers as possible, please. He has been my step dad for the past 13 years and I love him to pieces. And my mom has been through enough with herself, she doesn't need this right now. They are trying to be cheerful about it. They said they were gonna sell us kids to pay the bills, but I see through them

teacher update

Well the principal did finally call me back, after I called AGAIN at noon. She said that yes, the teacher is very strict and structured, and she will talk with Becca in the morning and then to the teacher (which is what I don't want), but the principal did say "Now, do I understand correctly that you are considering moving your child?" I said "No, I want my child moved regardless".
The principal also mentioned that when concerns have risen before with the teacher, she has sat in on a class or two and nothing has happened. Well of course nothing happened...she had the principal in there observing her I'm beginning to think I have my child enrolled in a school ran by idiots!

Oh and LB, don't worry babe, I kept my cool

I'm mad!

So here I sit at 8 Monday morning, waiting for the principal of our 8 year old daughter's school to call me back. I called Thursday and left a message and never heard anything so I called again this morning. So whats the problem? Her 3rd grade teacher. I HATE her! And apparently I am not the only one. Little by little our daughter has grown to hate going to school. It took almost 10 minutes to get her out of bed this morning. She started crying just before walking out to the bus stop. That broke my heart and I couldn't tell her "Well mommy is getting you transferred to another class TODAY!" because she would tell her teacher. This is not the norm for her. The first 3 years at this school has been awesome. Not one problem with her, except for the little chatter that kids do.
On the first day of school we had a huge rain storm and when Becca got home she actually started crying because her school/class folder got soaked. I told her to get a new one from her teacher and she said her teacher was gonna be mad. WTF? WTF happened in that class the first day for her to be this scared? I kept getting notes from her teacher that she is not focused on her work, she is disrupting the class, she is off in space, she is not turning in her work...Huh? I am not right by her side when she does her homework, I want her to develop good skills on her own. Sure, I am sitting in the next room and available anytime she needs help, and I check her agenda book and all work is completed, correct and signed. They were doing subtraction in the hundreds not long ago. She kept getting all these problems wrong in class yet when she had them for homework she got them all right.
This is not her..her teacher has scared the living shit out of these kids, she has yelled at them. Yes, she has actually yelled at them! (confirmed from Becca) Shit, I don't even yell at her, why the hell is her teacher yelling at these 8/9 year olds? At the end of the summer, she got a note from school telling her the teacher she got. Our neighbor boy (who is older) kept saying "She is mean", not to scare her, just telling her. I also have a friend whose friends boy was in this teachers class last year and was transferred out because of the same problems. Why is this teacher still employed by this school system? I just don't get it. This teacher doesn't realize that she is hurting the fragile egos of these 8/9 year olds by acting this way. Hey, don't get me wrong, I am all for tough love, but I am not gonna scare the shit out of her like that to get her to do something. I think there are better ways then that!
Well, what a nice first blog
Oh BTW, I am Curvy, husband is LB75, we have 1 kid, Becca and 2 very furry German Shepherds, Kane and Allie.
