It finally happens

The wife and i went to the doctors the other day for our yearly check up.I figured no problem since last years check up was all good.Well,we got a message from the doctors office to come back in for a talk.It seems my chloestrol level is all out of whack.Both good and bad.I know i'm going to have to take meds and god forbid be put on a diet.My appointments tomorrow and i just have to see what happens.

I am kinda surprised i've gone this long without any major health problems.

Bad four letter word -D-I-E-T.

On a positive note,i did get a Christmas bonus this year.

Workplace idiots and my job

In my job,i make colored pellets for company's that use them in carpet fibers for color.I like my job,i really do.Sometimes i wonder if management even knows what they are doing.

This company i work for is pretty big.They have four plants in the states and three overseas,China being the most recent.( England and India the other two).The Concord (N.C.) plant for which i work at is right now the big moneymaker for the whole company.We consisantly make 4 million dollar months in productivity.Of course, the bigwigs are all happy."Keep up the good work ..etc,etc,etc...".But....there's always the but....they need to realize that the equipment we have to work with was outdated ten years ago.They are always breaking down,so we end up with down time.The bigwigs don't like that.Well if these assholes would get us better equipment to work with then we could get product out faster and sooner.To be the big moneymaker that we are,i don't see where all that money is going to.It sure as hell not coming to our plant.They need to put more money back into the plants in the states(and more in my wallet).

I work weekend nights which is Thurs., Fri., and Sat. nights 9pm to 9am.I love this shift because there's really no one here.Stress level is zero.Besides the team leader,there are only four of us.The production manager on day shift is an total asshole.He's so bad that i've heard when he's not at work ,he's always looking behind himself. I'm surprised nobody's kicked his ass or killed him yet.

Then we have the few who have been with the company for twenty plus years, and they still don't know shit.The company would like you to have a college degree ,but from what i've seen it doesn't help to much.I didn't know you could give degrees to fools and dumbasses.

Now our plant manager,the only reason we got him is because the other plants didn't want him.Lucky us.He used to be a bad drunk (you could smell him before you seen him).He's changed alot but he can still smile to your face then stab you in the back.You know the saying about a leopards spots.

Besides all that i still like my job.

Something to think about

It's been awhile since i've wrote so here's a couple of things to ponder.

Why do we need hot water heaters? You don't need to heat hot water.
Why are they called apartments when they're all stuck together?

A little word play here. Pro's and Con's = Progress and Congress.Think about it.

Remember when i was a kid and hearing the adults calling kids young un's,and i thought ,why are they calling us onions?

Up and running

wireless

Yes!!!!!!! Got the ol' 360 back a little before 5:00 pm today. They gave me a completely new system and a one month gold card. Just had to pop in All Pro 2K8 to get back in the groove again.

But.......I can't get the wireless router and 360 to connect .Dammit....I can't get online.All i did was unplug everything on the console and nothing else.I was going to re-install the router but i missplaced the Linksys disc.

I was looking forward to hooking up with some of ya' tonight.

But of course,that's my luck.That's why i'll never play the lottery,even if i did win,i'd probably owe them.

My 360

WOO HOO!!!!! UPS called today and said they were delivering a package between 8 am and 7pm tomorrow. That can only mean my 360's is back in town.Me so happy!!

In good with Lowes again

A few weeks ago, Lara and i went to Lowes to look at ceiling fans.Where we want to install them, we'll have to run the wires because when the house was built ,they didn't put any ceiling lights in the whole house except the kitchen.The house is 20 + years old.

We went to Lowes and told them what we wanted and picked out two fans.They'll install of course.They sent out a guy to get a quote for the job.He comes out and didn't stay for more than five minutes.Lowes would call us when he gave them the estimate.This cost us 35 dollars.

Lowes left a message on the answering machine,and i called them back. Talked to the guy who helped us before and he told me they don't do that kind of job. He said that Lowes will install but they don't run wires ( it's an electrical thing ).

Now when we first went,we specifically told them what needed to be done , run the wires and everything.Why in the hell didn't he tell us when we was out there the first time ! So we got charged 35 dollars for something they don't do anyway.Talk about burning your ass, i was mad as hell!..........SOB's.

Well , we went back to Lowes today to get our money back,and i was every bit prepare to get really, really, rude with these people.I wasn't going to put up with any of their BS.Got there,asked for the manager,he wasn't there,but got the assistant manager. She was cool about it and agreed the guy should have told us then and there.And we got our money back.

I guess i won't boycott Lowes now. All's well that ends well !

Red Ring of Death

I've been doing some thinking ( boy ,does my head hurt ! ),while waiting for my 360 to get back. You would think a company as big as Mircosoft would figure out a way to prevent their console from doing a meltdown.I only had mine for seven months before the red rings started flashing. They wanted to be the first ones outta the gate but i think (there goes that word again ) they might have been a little too hasty.Especially for a next-gen hardware. I think they should have waited longer,and get more testing done to figure out a way to keep the console cooler.
No use in worrying now.What's done is done.Hopefully i won't have to send my 360 back multiple times.This.....wait......is ......killing........me.....I think i'll go cry in the corner now.

Really is Hot as Hell

The weathers really been crazy the past couple of weeks.We've been getting a heat index of over 100 degrees plus.I know it's summer and all , but i don't remember the heat being like this.Needless to say , i haven't been doing much outside,especially with my asthma.
It's been rough at work too.Whatever the temp is outside,it's 20 degrees hotter inside.I surprised i haven't lost a hundred pound from all the sweating i've been doing .Still have the belly though.

Some areas around here have broken fifty year old records weather wise.

But we did have a cold front come thru the other day! It only got up to 94 degrees.

Technology sucks

For a while my wife has been wanting to get a laptop.We had a little extra money so we decided to finally get her one. We went on tax free weekend. A few days before we pre-shopped for one at Best Buy and picked out two programs for them to install.They said the installation would be free.

We arrived,picked out what she wanted,got the programs.Everything was going fine until we started to check out. Now i don't know a hell of a lot about computers but the sales people were telling us that the one program she picked up was no good and tried to sell us a more expensive version.That led to this and that, oh, you need this,you need that. The laptop that we were looking at was around eleven hundred dollars( which i thought was a bit steep,but it was for my honey). When it was all was said and done,it was going to cost over eighteen hundred dollars!

I know they have to make a profit ,but damn, it got a little out of control.Like i said i don't know much about computers, and we may have needed all the BS they say we needed, but there's no way i'm spending that kind of money on a computer that's going to be outdated in a month anyway. And they were going to charge us for installation!

Needless to say , we didn' t get it.

What a great place

One day i was on xbox.com and Trixie was interviewing DSmooth and doodirock and from what i read just had to check this out. I'm glad i did. 2old2play is just what i needed gaming wise. A bunch of old farts just like me who love to game without dealing with a lot of immature people(old and young alike,there is some older gamers out there who'll act like jackasses).Everybody here seems to be someone i would like to hang with.

I found this place,i like this place, i ain't going anywhere,so you all are stuck with me for a good long time.

I won't be able to play any games for about six to eight weeks until my 360 gets back from being repaired.
