It's Hard To Resist!

Resistance 2! Been playing R2 with my clan and having the best time. I’m beginning to realize that my clan could play “Go Fish” and still have a rip-roaring good time. No matter what the game, it’s always about having a blast. (Unless you have to hear me whine about not wanting to host the room)

Anyway, R2 is stunning to look at and the many weapons of choice really enhance the game play. The gameplay is a bit run-and-gun, but as always, playing with your buds makes this game rock! What draws me into this game is the sheer size and scope of it. I stood in awe at the size of the monsters! And, it's got 60 player death match. Just that alone keeps me coming back for more. This is a stellar FPS and then some. You owe it to yourself to play this game.

LBP is always the best for slap-happy jaunty good times. Many levels leave me with a desire for more professionally developed designs, though. But what it lacks in sophisticated design, it surely makes up for in charm and personality.

It’s hard to keep up with all the great games coming out and going on at any given time, but at 2O2R we manage. A lot of the 2O2R guys/gals own an Xbox as well, so they’re even more overwhelmed with all the great titles coming out for both systems. I myself am pacing the games as only a gamer could. I WANT THEM ALL!!! I feel I’m missing something by not playing games like Fable, and Gears in these first few glorious days of its release. Until MS fixes their RROD problem, (for real) I’ll be a patient person and wait for that new slim (fixed) Xbox rumored to come out.

Then watch "Godfather" (and now it's on Blu-ray) to recover. Some of my clan have been talking about it. I've never seen any of the GF trilogies in their entirety, but I've seen enough segments when the men fold watch it. Some great quotes have come from that movie.

Doughbaby

Well, I’m happy to say that the bison beef stew I made last week came out good. I put a bit too much wine in it. Next time, less wine. Maybe I’ll try a beer base and see what that tastes like. Now, my biscuits were another story. They turned out more like square pucks….lol. I didn’t have a round glass the right size, so I used a square one. They didn’t turn out as fluffy as they should have. I think I overworked the dough. Still OK, just not that fluffy, flaky goodness I was hoping for. SuicideSquirrel's Honey Butter recipe really helped them be more edible.

Made pie crusts and a sweet potato filling to go in it. The pie did come out perfect! I was so happy. It was my first attempt at making pie crust with a rolling pin. I’m loving my new rolling pin! It even came with a “Silpat” rolling mat. It has circles on it to help noobs like me. The pie went so fast, I wished I made two.

Things I learned: don’t overwork the dough, and keep everything chilled. The best thing though, I found out I love working with dough. I love the way it feels, looks, smells -- watching it change just at the touch of my hands. Just a few simple ingredients coming together to form this great creation. All the ooooo’s and ahhhh’s make a girl feel pretty darn good. I need to work on handling the dough, but I’m off to a good start. I’ve always liked baking, and now I have a newfound love in my recipe box.

Movie: “My Favorite Wife” with Grey Grant and Irene Dunn. Good laughs and just downright fun to watch.

“What a horrible shame! Little Sackboy is sooo innocent. I just want to entertain – to bring happiness to every gamer. I'm embarrassed by all the fighting over Sackboy.

On the other hand, Sackboy appreciates your defense of him and his world. He particularly enjoyed your bashing the “writer/actor” guy who wrote the negative posts. (Is that really his own picture for his avatar?) Sackboy is sad for you nice people on Planet Earth. We don’t have such people on our Little Big Planet. We have fun all day long -- riding rocket ships, racing sports cars, changing outfits, cleaning our pods, and smacking Racer.

Happy Halloween!

All my hummingbirds have headed south for the winter, except for one. She left and was gone for five days just to return. I don’t think she was ready to head out and came back home. I watched her grow from a tiny baby into a juvenile humbird. She stayed for another three weeks, and then left again. I made sure she had fresh sugar water every day to fatten her up for the trip south. She got so use to seeing me (not having to fight with other humbirds for the feeder) that she would chirp to me every morning. I’ll miss seeing her. I always leave the feeders up till Nov for the hummers that are passing through from the north. It’s weird, but I can tell my humbirds apart from each other.

My lemon tree is doing great. I had to bring it into the house for the winter. The little lemon dropped off a few days ago. I took a few pics, then cut it open to use it. It had a sweeter taste over reg lemons. It was about half the size of a reg lemon. I almost felt evil eating it.

I’m caught up on all my work and the rest of the day is mine. I’m having a cooking, bake fest. I’m making beef stew, homemade biscuits (never made them before, or the beef stew) with honey butter and something sweet. I made the mac & cheese for the party on Sat and boy is it good. Recipe is at 2O2cook, look for Durty’s recipe. I saw this mean looking pear salad on Michael Chiarellos show, so I'm making that if I still have energy left. I love days like this. Put on some music, open the windows and the house smells wonderful.

On a gaming note. I've been busy with LBP, Socom, and I've been playing some old titles (part of that retro mood I've been in). Just finished ICO and DMC. Still need to finish up Okami. I don't want to rush thur this game. It's far to beautiful to not give it my full attention.

Swordsman

I'm looking forward to the release of the new Prince of Persia game. The "Prince of Persia Sands of Time" is one of my all-time favorite game series.

However, it really saddens me that Ubisoft will not be doing the Swordsman website this year. The Swordsman's site was a great community. They gave us missions to earn gold redeemable for real prizes. It was a great way for Ubisoft to promote their game, while at the same time, give back to their fans. Not to mention that the missions were lots of fun.

The gold earned you all kinds of POP goodies -- autographed posters, video games, tee shirts, ipods. They also had a similar site for "Assassin’s Creed 1191AD." Ubisoft even gave out X-box Elite systems, HDTV's and (wow) airline tickets to fly anywhere in the world. I earned the Assassin Creed video game and a few other things. Free game! Not bad for having fun, and meeting other gamers at the same time.

I was really looking forward to this, but it's a no go for the Swordsman site this time around.

On a better note: Halloween is upon us! I'm so ready for this. I even got a costume. Alas, I have to go buy more candy. I ate some of it, and people coming over ate some of it, and . . . Well, it's gone!...lol What is it about single-sized little wrapped candies that's so deliciously appealing? The darn little goodies call to me every time (in a barely audible whisper).

I wasn't gonna’ go to any H’ween parties this year because I didn’t want to miss the kiddies at my front door, but that has changed. The party is Sat night, so it won’t interfere with giving out candy on Fri. I'm bringing Durty's Mac&Cheese dish!

2Old2Resist!

Yea! Our fearless leader is in the Spotlight. Racer's a wonderful guy, an adequate Little Big Planet player, and obviously a great spokesman for the PS3. Winning one PS3 fan at a time! Nice interview, Racer! Yea!

Before I was lured into 2O2R with the promised of cake, cookies, and margeritas, I had never really played much online. I've been a single-player gamer most of my life. I've had friends over for a Mario Kart or Smash Bros. fun night, but as you know that's just not the same (blocking the TV and nudging elbows, aside). All my clan guys changed that for me. Barely one night goes by when some type of game isn't being played. Then LBP! I've been driving my clan crazy with that one. And now, the clan is growing; we even have a new girl joing!

My clan guys are the best. I can't say enough good things about them. So, If you own a PS3 (and want use it for more than Blu-Rays or a bookend for your game collection), or you're thinking of buying one -- hint, hint, LBP, LBP! -- give Racer a yell. You won't regret it.

Thanks to my clan for putting up with my Hello Kitty pillows, playing LBP over and over again,and making me feel at home. They are hard to resist!

Another in-game funny moment, we have many:

Sometimes, I follow a teammate to give him backup, watch and learn, see how the masters do it. I learn a lot by following them and they get backup to boot.

Well, this one time, I'm following one of our fine killing machines (we have many), Biznass,aka "Mr. Snipe at Char." He's on my team this time, thank goodness, can't kill me that way. He's one sneaky #@&%!, but I'm following every step he takes. Checking behind us, prowling around, learning as I go. He gets to this wall and goes to jump it. Well, first try is a nope. Second try, not even close. Third try, not on his, or my life. Fourth try,....ain't gonna happen.

This goes on for a bit, he keeps trying, and I just stand there watching, mesmerized by watching him try to jump this wall. The Great Biz! can't jump over the wall!!! The whole time I'm quiet, don't say a word, just watch. Then I hear, with a commanding certainty and admirable dignity, "Shut Up," and he finally gets over the wall. I was laughing so hard, I could barely focus my weapon.

You have to know how Biz plays in-game. He's always very very quiet, one mission, take the enemy DOWN!!! He's very good at it. He sneaks around taking people out with two or three efficient shots. For Biz to not be able to get over a little wall, well that just ain't right....LMAO!!! Kinda like watching Baryshnikov trip on the sidewalk. Apparently,some gun was in his way, the command for jump wall and pick up gun are the same. Sure, whatever...*winks at Biz*

I can only hope Biz doesn't take it out on me too bad. I'll have to keep low and back against the wall! He's sooooo gonna snipe me for this!

Goonies!

LBP has been delayed. I'm taking it better than I thought I would. My clan has me on a 48 hour watch...lol I feel worse for MM with all the hard work they put into making this wonderful game. I'll hold tight, even if it's hour by hour.

Socom's a big disappointment with all the release trouble they've been having. I'm not giving up on it, though. It just would have been nice if we had it to play till LBP. I've decided to get Dead Space. I've always been a big Silent Hill fan, so I should be able to handle it. Maybe.

There are so many games coming out that I feel a bit overwhelmed--just a bit. I'm sure just like many of you, I'll have to pick and choose which ones are must-haves. Finding the time to play them all will not be easy.

Watched the "Goonies" last night (again). I still love that movie. I hear they are remaking it. I don't see how it could come close to being as good, but will wait and see. Any ideas who should play the "little" brother of the bad guys? (Chris Farley is gone; maybe Meg Ryan with her new face.) Also, if you're looking for a funny old movie, check out "How To Murder Your Wife" with Jack Lemmon. Very funny, especially for the guys.

Autumn's Charm

Went hiking yesterday. My feet are sore, my legs are surprisingly well, and I've checked for ticks a million times!

The leaves are not brilliant with color this year, but the air was crisp and clean. It was a beautiful, sunny day. We ate like piggies after the hike. I was so hungry, I almost ate my way to North Carolina. Had burgers, hotdogs, milkshakes (Char looks at A-Man, the shakes were my idea! I wonder why...lol) and all the sides that go with a picnic feast.

Took a few pictures of weird mushrooms and fungi stuff.

Char, Not LBP Again!

Playing LBP has been a great way to unwind and let the day melt away. The funny things that can and will happen in this game keep getting better. For those of you who are considering this game, I hope reading some of this will help in your decision. I have only a few issues with LBP. I'll get to that in a later blog.

It's strongest base is gaming with your friends at home or online. You will laugh and laugh hard. If you don't like these types of games, don't buy it and don't waste your time reading my blog on it. I'm a big fan of LBP. I should be a LBP PR person...lol I'm not trying to sell you on this game. I am however trying to tell those who are interested in this game that they will not be sorry. Join us at 2O2R and see how we have clans already going for this game. We can split them up into groups of fours and then get ready to have your world rocked!

Down below is just a small sample of talk after a game. You learn real quick that some of your clan are TIMMIE'S! *gives Racer a stern look* So I hope if you own a PS3 you'll buy this title and come join the ongoing laugh your AZZ off fun. Or, just buy the whole package. PS3, LBP, Headset Combo! I know they don't have that yet. I hope they get going on getting a package ready for those of you who are ready to buy and bring home the Sackboy and girls. Did you hear that Media Molecule? A Combo Package! Very needed!!!!

Spot said: LBP FUN! "Having Char decide your Pod needs more flowers. Watching Char and Racer swat each other off rocket packs Racer stamping the heck out of you with stickers, +1 bonus if you can hear the kids in the background LittleBigPlanet is going to ROCK !"

Char says: Let's explain this how it really happened. Racer (aka Timmy) runs ahead and leaves you to die. Never comes back to get you. (unless he needs you) Slaps you silly. Steals as many stickers as his little Sacktimmy can. He'll bitch slap, push, grab and toss you into the pit, fire, holes, spikes, elec volts (you get it) So, SpeedRAcer is on his jet pack. He grabs me on my jet pack and I bitch slap him a few good times, I keep going at him till he drops and he falls to the ground. I quickly swoop down in my jet pack and grab his misbehaving butt. He grabs what ever he can and tries to hold tight. So I just pull even harder. I keep pulling and swinging my jet pack. He can't hold on any longer. I then start twirling him round and round, as fast as I can. Then side to side HARD! (I hear Spot laughing his azz off in the background, cause he knows why and something about what I was doing being the funnest thing he ever saw in gaming) then I take Racer and slam him into the ground over, over and over again. Wash and Repeat!!!! I didn't know who was going to pee their pants first, Spot or me from laughing so hard!!!! Now, do you think Racer learned his lesson????? Heck no! If I could have I would have done the Chicken Dance over his Sackboy! "

Racer says: "The other night I was playing with some jack ass kid who was talking on the phone so I have to listen the level. Next thing I know I'm in his POD.. OUT with the stickers. A big ol picture of me.. I start stamping myself all over his pod.. Next thing I know he's yelling "KNOCK IT OFF" HOW DO I GET THIS GUY OUT OF MY POD.... I hear his brother in the back ground JUST TURN THE PS3 OFF........Dumbass kid"

Char says: "Racer and BalekFekete are bad Timmie's! They are mischievous, misbehaving, delinquent Sackboys! And Racer is a sticker hog. You've got to keep both eyes on that one."

Racer says: I'm a bad Timmy, I can't help it, I suffer from a type of madness, I'm also a sticker hog! and I like the feel of slapping Sackpeople into the pits of hell and running off with all the goodies. I like to leave my undies in your *** POD and put 2O2P stickers all over Timmie's PODS. I'm an evil leader! I need help and am looking into that as I type this. Truly your Sackfriend and leader Racerchaser.

*** A POD is your Sackboy home, it's where you can dress up your place like you want it. But some people come in and leave their mark.

BalekFekete says: Me too, I've been really bad. "If the person smacked you with a monkey tattoo to the face early on, then that was probably me."

It's a long blog I know, but I just wanted to help anybody on the fence with this one.

This is just a small taste of clan play in this game. So, if this game looks like it's calling to ya, we would love to have you come join us in on all the fun that is LBP.

HOME SWEET HOME!!!

My face is well licked and my hands are red and raw from poochie pulling the rope I had tied to her. It's been a long night to say the least.

After talking to the police (three times last night), they said I had to keep her overnight until animal control was open at 8 in the morning. After a long few hours of her whimpering and barking outside. I bring her back in, make a bed on the floor (again) and we kinda sleep on and off together. She was very clean and smelled of sweet lavender. I laugh at that (you dog people wash you doggies in sweet smelling stuff...lol)

She barked and cried every 5 minutes. I started to tear up not knowing what to do with her, she looked at me and calmed down for some reason. The whimpering and baking was every 30 minutes after that. I would calm her back down and fall to sleep (a little)

I had a dog when I was about four years old. I really don't remember that much about her. She broke lose from the fenced yard and was hit by a car. That was it for my mom (upset her bad) So we had a cat from then on. So, when it comes to dogs, I don't know that much about them. This dog was BIG and would over power me like I was a feather.

This morning at 7 AM I feed her the rest of my chicken, some sliced ham, water and then I took her around the neighborhood to see if anyone knew her. She pulled me around like a rag doll. My hands are red and raw. One person after the other would call people they knew and after a three hour search I found a lady that thought she knew who Puissant (that's what I named the dog) belonged to. YaaaHOOOO!!! She gave me some dog food just in case it wasn't the owner and pointed the house out. I looked at Puissant and said, let's goooooo as she pulled me down the street.

Ding Dong! the homeowner looks out his window with shock. Opens the door. I say "please tell me this is your dog!!??" He said how?, Where?, What?, How? I told him, then she ran in the house (with me still attached) and started rolling all over his feet. I was very relieved. He said they got her from the Human Society five months ago. That she's a runner every time they open the door. I then said in my nicest way, GET HER TAGS!!!! I said my goodbyes and went to tell the helpful lady that she was right and thank her for all her help.

Poochies home, I'm home. I smell like a dog, have slobber all over me...ewwwww! My house looks a mess and I haven't slept much.

Thanks for all the advice, cause I didn't know what I was gonna do if I couldn't find her home. I'm wiped out. I forgot to take a picture of her. I was so upset last night and this morning I wanted to get going to catch people home. I think I'll go visit her and get a pic to show y'all how cute and big she was.

Someone called the police on my barking dog last night... LMAO....She cried, then I cried.

Please please please tag your poochie. Sorry if this reads like a mess, but I'm beat and my eyes are tired.

Do you know where your poochie is?

It's 2 AM do you know where your Poochie is?!

I hear wimpering outside, a doggie sound. I look out and what do I see a huge cream Lab (I think) looking back at me We looked at each other . I thought "oh great!" I open up the door and in he runs (think it's a him) He's so strong he pulls little ol char across the room before I can get him to stop. I didn't get him to stop, he stopped on his own.

We look at each other some more Then he starts loving all over me He looks really happy and worried at the same time. Stays really close to me. I take him back outside to see if someones looking for him, and get my neighbour up to help. No one is looking for him, it's dark, cool and late. I stand wondering what to do with this huge thing leaning on me. I gave him water and some steak (no leftovers for me) and chicken. He inhaled and the food was gone.!!! I'm not even being funny! It was gone and fast. We look at each other again.

This dog is well cared for, he's spotless and well trained. Thinking of what to do, I came up with the bright idea of putting him in the laundry room. I cleaned it up so he can't get into trouble, put lots of old blankets down. Then I call the police, give them all the info on him that I have, collar, no tags, BIG dog. They didn't have any owners of lost dogs calling. What do I do with him? They said I have to keep him till morning

I put him in the laundry room, he starts crying, I put him next to me he goes to sleep wakes up crying and barkin. Wow can that big thing bark! I put him outside, he's barking even worse!!! I mean non-stop!!!! I giving him a little more time to see if he clams down. Do I know about dog??? NO! They bark and smell funny. How do you get a dog to sleep?

Wow, Impressive!

Just finished playing the Bioshock Demo. All I can say is, "Impressive!" This is the kind of game one could get lost in. It's on par with games like Eternal Darkness in how well they convey the atmosphere of the environments.

I already knew it was an amazing game from all the reviews last year, but reading about it versus playing it are two different things. Everything about this game is stellar! Game play, voice acting, music, sound, story. This game has style, substance, even humor - all nicely wrapped up in an adult package. Make no mistake, this isn't your typical mundane shooter. Not that I have anything against shooters or any other type of game for that matter. After all, I love almost all of them. I just get tired of game developers sticking with the same old formula, time and time again, never thinking outside the box.

Just talking about it here makes me want it even more. It will be mine!

I've Fallin In Love! ! !

I have fallen in LOVE (insert heart) with my Sackboy. It will really hurt when they end this beta and he says goodbye. (insert crying) I will revive my little crush as soon as the official game touches my PS3!

I can't wait till I can play with all you Sackboys and Sackgirls (I know some of you will be Sackgirls, and I don't mean just the ladies!). You will not be able to not fall in love with your Sackboy/girl. I look forward to laughing, cursing (Char doesn't curse (insert embarrassed face), screaming, helping, waiting, strategizing, figuring out, hugging, pulling, jumping, sliding (it just goes on and on), and just having the best time with each other. This is multi-player at its best. If you like platforming games, it's a winner, but it's far more than a PF game.

This game is different for one reason. Its Joy Factor! You can't help but love those little Sackpeople and the worlds they play in. Worlds that the average Joe creates for you to play in FTW! There are a lot of talented people out there. We are the game developers. How ingenious. Where else can you see grown guys say things like "OOO this game is SO adorable" and dress up like cute little Bees! Buzzzzzzz!!!!

Your Sackboy/girl is as unique as you are.

I had more funny moments in this game with some of my clannies and also some people from across the world. Playing with your clan is gonna be different than any shooter you play. This game is gonna have you laughing in disbelief, shock, awe, ahh, OH!, WTF & Wow moments. A lot of weird and funny things happen in LBP. You will be laughing at each other and yourselves non-stop (Right Slickback!!) because it's just that good. Pick it up, come play, you will not be sorry!!!!!

As always, we have the timmie factor. What to do, you ask? You join 2Old2Resist. This clan is all about being Home. It's like one big family rec room with all kinds of games to play day to day. You can ask dumb questions too = ) and it's always OK. hehe heh And the joking, laughing, funnies will keep you smiling. Timmie -free since . . . since...ummmmm *char looks at Racer!???!!* Well check 2O2R, we might be on the bottom, but we are tops in our clan!
