TIDE GOT ROLLED

You have to respect Utah. They came to the Sugar Bowl to play. My Crimson Tide did not. I put most, if not all, of the blame on Saban. It seems that in his infinite wisdom he took the players to see the Cruise film Valkyrie the night before the game. WFT? Valkyrie? Are you serious. No wonder the team showed a lack of intensity in the first quarter. Valkyrie? He'd been better off cramming them into a conference room for a viewing of Beaches. I heard Saban was a big Eagles fan (the rock group not the Philly franchise). He makes enough money, couldn't he have paid for private concert? Anything but Valkyrie. Geez.

Holiday Garbage

It's insane. My street looks like a scene from Sanford & Son. I know that jokers have a lot of trash from Christmas, but those boxes can be cut down and recycled. We've been given a separate box for recycling but boxes and bows still end up on the curb while the recycle box stays snug against its house. I'm not sure how the post-lady will deliver mail today. She'll have to drive like Twisted Metal to make it through the neighborhood. It's 2008 (nearly 09), who doesn't recycle? I'm guessing most people don't.

Snake Eater

Here's something from the bizarre...

A Chinese man has claimed that he has been eating live snakes washed down with warm beer for the last ten years.

41-year-old Wen Xide says he started by eating one to win a bet with friends for a packet of cigarettes and he says he "became addicted."

Wen says it helps him relax and claims, "it's a bit smelly but they're very delicious."

A local doctor says Wen needs to be careful though because he could suffer nerve problems and risk infection from parasites.

And I thought my addiction to M&Ms was bad.

A few miles southeast of Tuscaloosa, Florida tramples a decent Seminole team.

If you want to see the two best teams in college football, they play next Saturday in Atlanta.

Watching True Blood the other night, a quote from Terry, the war veteran, stated it perfectly. He said, "I can't listen to politicians. If I do, I'll have a seizure." That's how I feel. Let's talk about football, gaming, lower gas prices or naked chicks. I've stopped watching the news. The election is over, but not really. This jazz is still all over the news. Who needs a break?

The Future's So Bright...

ART of WAR, 2old2play's premier GEARS clan, celebrates its 2nd Year within the hallowed surrounds of this most excellent gaming communtiy. Tremendous thanks goes to the AOW staff and membership, as well as Doodi and Dsmooth for their effort in creating and managing this community. I know what its like behind the curtain, so many thanks gents.

As GEARS of WAR 2 launches, ART of WAR says goodbye to GEARS 1 and hello to the much anticipated sequel. Since November of 2006, MONDAY NIGHT GEARS has been etched on our calendars and it will continue to be our clan night and our open invitation for 2old2play to join us on Sera.

The past two years have been exciting and rewarding. Here's to another.

I LIKE BEAVER

Can you say Overrated? I cried foul when Georgia was dropped in the polls in favor of overrated USC. Now, the majority of sports writers can eat shit as unranked Oregon State puts the wood to the Trojans. What makes it even sweeter is that USC has no ranked opponents remaining on their schedule. Any top tier team that comes out of the SEC should be in the title game when you consider the game — football, and keep popularity out of the polling. End of story for USC, maybe next year.

Some Sick Jazz

My wife is getting ready for work this morning and I'm lounging about since I work from my home office downstairs. Its just getting daylight outside, and my wife is near the dining room table, putting her laptop in its case when she spots some movement across the street. She moves to the window for a closer look. Our dining room has two windows. She asks me to look out of the second and see if that's our neighbor on his front porch. Now, my neighbors experience a lot of foot traffic and often have visitors, so we are always looking across the street to see what's going on. The front porch is basically a concrete slab with 3 steps set into an archway. When my wife looks out of the window it appears, she says, that the oldest guy who lives there is on the front porch and he seems to be having some type of siezure. I can't see good from my window, so I move around to her window and ask that she step to the side so I can see. HOLY SHIT! That dude isn't siezing, he's snapping his carrot! I don't know if he was creating some theater for whoever or couldn't focus indoors. Either way, I hope I don't see that shit again.

Lesson Learned...Again

Your hard drive is the weakest "element" of your computer. Back up your jazz and then back that up once per week and stuff it in a fireproof / waterproof safe. If all else fails, there is always Drive Savers. Dude, I hate learning from mistakes I have already made. Routines can be a bitch, but so can not sticking with them.

GANJA QUEEN

HBO Documentaries

Schapelle Corby. 27-year old Austrailian. Arrested in Bali, Indonesia with 4.2k of mary jane in 2004. A clear bag is found in her unlocked boogie-board tote. She is jailed for 5 months before the start of her trial. A media frenzy ensues.

I watched this film last night. It was very disturbing yet interesting. I had not heard about this case, but that's probably because the players were Austrailian. Who knows? I recommend it. If you believe she's innocent, it will make you think twice about where you vacation and packing your bags. If you believe she is guilty, then you'll appreciate her ability to fool most.
