Day 3 Conclusion
As previously stated, I was going to wait it out to get tickets for the Supernatural signing. However, standing around for an hour is not taking advantage of my limited time. So I continued to walk the convention floor and check the surrounding booths, checking the WB booth to make sure that I do not miss the passing out of the tickets. Because I was going to wait for the tickets, I would miss the Supernatural panel itself. I was interested to hear what direction they were going to take the show, since it seem that the storyline for the past two seasons had been resolved. I guess they were not certain if the show was going to be renewed or not, so they tied up the series main storyline. However, they are coming back for another season, so it should be interesting. I made it back to the WB booth about 10 minutes before the schedule time and waited for a little bit. There was a crowd around the booth and I decided to join in. A few minutes later, they started to give tickets and everyone made a mad dash. Holy crap, it was like they were giving away gold or something. Unfortunately I was unable to secure a ticket, so a little dejected, I decided to catch the last of the Supernatural panel. Smallville tickets were going to be given out later but I could only imagine the madness for that, so I decided not to even try.I walked into the Supernatural panel during the Q&A portion and was totally lost. For those not familiar w/ the show, it deals w/ two brothers that fight ghosts and demons. They usually cover the urban legend myths and it's interesting to see their take on things. Only Jason Ackles, on of the stars, was on the panel. The others were writers and producers. I was not able to sit through the entire remaining panel as my cousin called. He and his buddy had returned from eating and they had gotten me some food. I met up w/ them and decide to check out the WB booth again. The stars of Sarah Chronicles panel was still signing and we were able to get a couple of quick pics. Next was off to the Marvel Studios panel. The event was going to be held at Hall H. Some of the movies that was going to be discussed was Iron Man and the remake of the Hulk.
As w/ my previous luck w/ Hall H, the line were ridiculously long. So instead of waiting, we decided to head off to the next panel, which is the Sarah Chronicles. We decided to change our strategy plan and head to the room and just sit and wait till the next panel. The policy is the security does not clear the rooms, so you can sit in a room all day if you wanted. I think this will be my strategy next year and I will pack a lunch, so I will not have to move.
We had no idea what panel we were going into but we didn't care, as long as we secure our seats. Once there, it was actually a nice surprise. The panel was for Ray Bradbury, famous author of Fahrenheit 451. It was quite interesting to hear about his viewpoints and ideas. Up next the Sarah Chronicles panel! My cousin was really excited about this. He had seen the trailer for the show and was hooked. I myself had not seen anything but was open to check it out. Plus Smallville was going to be the next panel, so I was not going anywhere . We were treated to a sneak preview of the pilot and I must say this show is going to rock! I am simply amazed by the quality of the show, as it was up to par w/ the movies. The story basically takes place after Terminator 2 and kind goes off on it's own, so it doesn't acknowledge Terminator 3. Lena Headey is hot as Sarah Conner and Summer Glau kicks ass. I will not give away any details but if you like the first two movies, you will love this show. Afterwards, we were treated to a Q&A w/ the stars of the show. After answering a few questions, it appears that the writers has a story arch for at least two years. So tell all of you friends to check it out! Next up is Smallville and the introduction of the new Supergirl!
We had decent seats but I was determine to get as close as I can for Smallville. I am a big fan of the show, even though Batman is the man! Plus I have a huge crush on Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang). Sadly, she has never shown up for any comic convention.
Actually neither has Tom Welling (Clark Kent). A clip is show that summaries the past season and we are also shown some scenes to the upcoming season. The panel includes Erica Durance (Lois Lane), Justin Hartley (Green Arrow), the producers Al Gough & Miles Millar and the newest cast member Laura Vandervoort (Supergirl). This show definitely knows how to get the guys to watch. Before the Q&A starts, the producer informed the crowd that they still cannot have Bruce Wayne (Batman) or Diana (Wonder Woman) on the show. Due to whatever reason, WB execs have decided that they did not want either character on the show because of their upcoming movies. Apparently they do not want to confuse people w/ having them in a movie and on tv at the same time. However, they can have a show and movie about Superman? I do not understand Hollywood sometimes. Why not give what the fans want? Anyways, it was mention that Michael Rosembaum, had wanted to appear but recently had back surgery. Some tidbits were discussed about the show. They were going to bring back the Justice League back next season and it is to include some more members. So that should be interesting. That basically concludes day 3 of Comic Con. Only one more day of reporting and that will conclude my blogging of Comic Con 2007. I leave you w/ a pic of Lena Headey and Summer Glau.

Until next time...

Comic Con Update - Day 3 Chaos
Finally an update on day 3 of Comic Con. Saturday is consider to the busiest day of the con, as people are out of work and school. Tickets have been sold out for the day and I am expecting record crowds. I had planned for the worst but hopefully I will be able to survive and get to see what I want. On the schedule is panel hopping, which includes Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, Supernatural, Marvel Studios, Sarah Connor Chronicles and Smallville. Unfortunately there is so much to see that I have to pass on The Simpsons, DIsney/Pixar, and Columbia/Screen Gems. As previously mention, my cousin and his buddy had come down to join me for their first Comic Con. I had warned them that this will be a true wild experience, especially for noobs. .We started the morning by getting some breakfast and decided to make the journey to the convention by walking. Well, actually my cousin wanted to walk, I wanted to take the shuttle. I don't mind the walk but I was trying to conserve my energy, the distance was about 1 1/2 miles but I was going to be walking and waiting around all day. Plus I had already done it before on Thursday. However, my cousin is the type not to take no for an answer. So walking it is! We finally approach the convention center and there was a massive crowd waiting. Yeah, not a good sign. We quickly entered and head towards the convention floor. First thing my cousin does is shoot away on his camera. He was like a little kid, taking shots of everything and everyone. Pretty funny, considering he is a few years older than me. We walked around the floor and pick up some free swag and exclusives. Once that was completed, my next stop was to the Inkworks booth. I had intel that Jennifer Love Hewitt was going to be signing at noon. I informed my cousin that I was going to get an autograph and that he is welcome to join me or venture on his own. He opted for walking around as he did not have the patience to wait. I waited in line for about an 1/2 hour, then the lovely Ms. Hewitt appeared. She was surrounded by six security guards and her entourage. Not sure who they all were, but I guess that how she rolls.
My cousin called and informed me that line for Heroes had wrapped around the building and was out the patio door! I thought he was bullshitting me, but unfortunately he wasn't. As previously stated, he doesn't like to wait, so I thought he was making it up. He decided to leave and was going back to the hotel to drop off some stuff. I decided to venture up and see the crowd for myself. He was not lying. By the time I had made it up to the room, they had already capped the line as capacity was filled for the Heroes panel. The line itself was the way my cousin had describe, however people in lined were waiting for the Battlestar's panel, which was right after Heroes So after taking an educated guess of how people were in line, there was no way I was going to make it into the panel. While checking out the line, I notice that an import model had walked past me. If you are wondering what an import mode is, they are the models that are usually at the car shows. She looked a little befuddled as she was looking for her friends in the line. It definitely interesting to see all these different people at the convention. Tired of carrying my stuff, I decided to head back to the hote also.
After returning form the hotel, my cousin was hungry and wanted to go eat. I had other plans, I wanted to catch the Supernatural panel. So he was going to eat w/ his buddy and we would meet up later. I had some time, so I head over to the WB booth, to see what was required for their signings. Stars from Supernatual, Sarah Connor Chronicles, and Smallville were going to be signing throughout the day at the booth. Apparently they were only allowing 75 people per signing and tickets were going to be distributed one hour before the schedule time. By the time I had made it to the booth, they had already given out the tickets to the Sarah Connor Chronicles signing. Both Lean Headey (Queen from 300) and Summer Glau (River from Serentiy and Firefly) were going to be there.
Well it's getting late and there is so much to discuss. So I will leave it here and will update another day. Plus there is so much someone could read before losing interest. So until then...

Day 2 Update... Part Deux
Finally, the continuation of day 2 of Comic Con. Hopefully everyone has not been waiting in anticipation for this blog.
After the WB panel, there nothing much to do other than walk the convention floor. I would have stayed in Hall H but Fox had canceled their panel due to not having their films ready for preview. How that is possible I am not certain. You would figure that a major studio would be ready for something that is big as Comic Con. Oh well, just gives me more time to look at things. The great thing about walking around the booths are the surprises that can occur. I walking pass the WB booth and Missy Peregrym, she's the shape shifting girl from Heroes, was signing for her new show Reaper. Not sure if this means that her character is no longer on the show but she could still do both. A few moments in line and I got an autograph from a celeb, can beat that Anyways, she was pretty nice and greet each fan w/ a friendly hello. I was able to snap a picture of her while I was in line. Love the t-shirt she was wearing. It stated Mmm... Burritos. Not sure if that was a promotion for something but pretty funny to see. As I was turning the corner and putting away my new autograph, I ran into Gregory Helms, a wrestler. He's actually one of my favorites from the WWE. He is a huge comic book fan and for a time period his wrestling character was a superhero known as the Hurricane. I was surprised to see him there and gave him one of those, don't I know you look? But before I could react, he disappeared. It's alright, it not like I would have said anything. I usually get quiet when I meet celebrities, not that I am amazed by them or anything. I view them as normal people, but I just quiet in social situations. After walking around and snapping some pics, I had a headache, so I though I would go somewhere and just relaxed for a little. So I head back to Hall H, to see what was going on in the hall, since there was nothing schedule. Inside they were playing various trailers, so I decided to sit and relax for a bit. Most of the trailers I have seen but it was just nice to have trailer after trailer. Something about watching trailers makes me giddy. The one that got the most reaction was Lindsey Lohan's new movie, I know who killed me. People were snickering because it was Lindsey but others were oohing because she plays a stripper and that was one of the first images of the trailer. Next panel was 24 but I decided to opt out on it because of my headache but also it was to interfere w/ the Halo Universe panel. I continued to watch some more trailers until it was time to leave.
I was to meet up w/ Gaius at the Halo panel. We have been texting one another throughout the convention and this was the only one that interested us both. I got there first because he was at the Stargate panel. Unfortunately I think he got preoccupied there as he did not make this one. Basically the discussion was about the Halo Universe, which encompass the new Haloclix line, the graphic novels, and the new Marvel comic. Nothing was going to be discussed about the game as no one from Bungie was there. The panel consisted of a rep from Wiz Kid, author Eric Nylund, comic writer Brandon Micheal Bendis, artist Alex Maleev and a Marvel rep. Wiz Kid rep showed a pic of the Scarub and some of the figures available. The first series will consist of 90 different figurines and various vehicles. The Puma, oops I mean Warthog was shown. Figures will be availble in four per box starting at $10 and vehicles will be sold separately. It 's already been determine that Lbsutke will be spending some good amount of money to collect these. There will be an additional novel but Eric will not be writing it but that he is open to do another one. There was a discussion of the new comic mini-series. Some pages of the comic was shown and it looks awesome. It was also mention that there would be more mini-series in the future. There was a Q&A w/ the panel and there were a few timmies asking question about the game. You can check out my favorite question in my last entry. The panel tried to answer the best they could, but I am not certain if they knew much about it. Of course, they gave the answer of we cannot tell as Microsoft would kill us. That concluded the panel and I was off to wander some more.
Since my headache did not go away and there was nothing left that interested me, I decided to call it a day. There was a Star Wars panel, as it was Star Wars Day, but I was at Celebration IV two months earlier and had my fix there. I was pretty sure it would be the same things that were discussed, so I could miss it this year. I was interested in the Kevin Smith panel but I knew that would probably not be the best place w/ a headache. So back to the hotel I went, plus my cousin was coming down from San Jose to join me, so I had to meet up w/ him. It was going to be his first time and I don't thing he was ready for the madness. So that finally concludes day 2. I was happy that I was able to make it to the WB panel and enjoy the presence of Kate Beckinsale, got an autograph and ran into one of my favorite wrestlers. I would say it was a good day. Well off to bed I go. Hopefully I should have an entry for day 3 tomorrow. Until then, stay tuned for more...

Stay classy San Diego!!!
Well, I made it back safely from Comic Con last night. I was going to finish up on my 2nd day experience but was exhausted after I got home. So, I ate some dinner and crashed for the rest of the night. Hopefully I can update some more tonight, as I am a little busy at work today. So instead, I will leave you faithful readers w/ some funny blurbs and experiences at the con. While sitting on the shuttle bus to the convention center. I overhear the conversation behind me.
Girl 1: Look at all those people. Of the 50,000 or so people here, we are the only cool ones.
Girl 2: Yeah, we are the anomalies.
While walking around the convention center.
Boy: Why is there so many damn people here?
While heading to a panel. Some girl, who dressed up as a princess or queen, was talking on her cell phone.
Girl: Dammit, I cannot walk for 5 minutes before someone asks me to take a picture w/ them.
At the Halo Universe panel. (Note: It was a panel based on everything but the game, such as the comic, toys and novels. No Bungie rep was there)
Timmie 1: What is the objective of the game?
Eric Nylund: (looks around the panel) Survive?
Pathology Panel: Starring Milo Ventimiglia (Peter of Heroes) in a suspense thriller movie. Easily a movie not meant for his younger fans.
The horror of the father, who had his two younger daughters w/ him, when the extended trailer was shown. The trailer opens w/ the medical studies playing puppets w/ the dead corpses and imitating Napoleon Dynamite. Another was of the medical students crack opening the chest cavity w/ a tree cutter. Milo's getting to 2nd base w/ Alyssa Milano. And of course the sex scene in the morgue next to a dead body.
Well that is all I can think of this moment. There are a few more but I will post them when I recall them. So as always, stay tuned for more!
