I decided to write a blog.

I am not quite sure why I am writing a blog, but like most things I have done in my life, if my friends are doing it, I must too. Although I admittely do not really understand the purpose of a blog, or why anyone would want to read my own. I really do not have anything creative to say. I really don't feel like I need an outlet for my emotions, that is why I play video games. Perhaps it is a need for acceptance, then again, receiving acceptance from compelte strangers seems a bit odd to me. So what is it? What compels people to write blogs, and why do I feel the need to start one up myself.

Like I said before, I think it has more to do with, everyone else is doing it, and since I am always the last person to join the bandwagon of everything(I was the last one of my circle of friends who started smoking, I was 18. I quit smoking a year and three months ago btw).

Well enough of the big questions. Onto more serious topics.

I have decided not to get a PS3 or a Wii. After much thought I have decided that I am embracing my 360, PC, and DS for all my gaming needs. There are a couple of reasons for this, first being, I pretty much have a family now(not married, but in a committed relationship with my girlfriend, and her fantastic son), and I rather spend more time with them than gaming. Don't get me wrong I still playing a couple hours in the morning, and I will play on a clan night. But to be honest, I do those things when they are not around(the advantage of not having the same work schedule I suppose). Second, along with wanting to spend time with them, who has the money to keep up with the Jones's anymore? I could get them all, I make enough, but if I had to make a choice between a PS3 and a Wii, and taking my family out to do something, I am going to do that instead.

OF course it helps a bit that it looks like there will be fewer exclusive titles to the PS3 than last generation, which means I can play them on my 360, and the graphics from what I have seen look pretty much the same. Why spend 600? The Wii looked cool and all, but the realization that when I play, I just want to sit on the couch and pretty much veg. The wii looks like it wants to get me off my butt, and thats not what I am looking for when I want to unwind in a video game.

So I think I will stick with my 360, PC, and DS.

Again, I am not sure what anyone is suppose to get out of all of that, but hey, if you want to read, then go right ahead.
