I know I don't know everything...

I don't usually say anything political...I know how heated we get with Politics...but I'd just like to say...

This whole Economic thing going on with Fannie Mae and...crap what's the other one? Anyways...with them wanting a buy out...yadda yadda...it's scary. I watched a few programs yesterday and read a few articles...I kinda like to be up on current events. And, I have always said that not everything is the current presidents fault. Case and point...Fannie mae and Freddi mac...(I remembered)...about this time in the year 1999...just before Bill Clinton left office...he went to these two companies and basically forced them to make home loans available for people they knew couldn't afford a home loan. There were annalysts who said if these companies and those who got these home loans weren't watched carefully, it would come back to bite us in the butt.

So, thanks Bill Clinton, for you shenanigans in your presidency...and especially for the economic problems of today. People that get all hot and heavy and make it out like EVERYTHING is George W. Bush's fault don't have all the facts. I'm not saying he isn't responsible for some things, so don't get all pissed off...those of you who hate him. You're allowed to hate him, I won't say you aren't...but I'm equally allowed to hate Bill Clinton...so don't give me your "Oh, Bill did so much for our country" schpeal...I don't want to hear it... hehehe

Side note: I'm also not saying the American People are also to blame...those people who went and spent and spent and spent...it have come back to bite them in the butt too. MOney money Money...we all just need to live within our means, and this sort of thing wouldn't be as big of a deal...

I did nothing today...it's 11pm PST

I am one of those people that run around like a chicken with it's head cut off during the week, and then decompress on the weekend. This weekend I did a whole lotta nothing! Doesn't usually work out that way, but this weekend I'm glad it did. I found a few things out...

#1 - Paramore (one of my favorite bands) is releasing a new song on the soundtrack for the "Twilight" movie coming out in November. For those of you who don't know...I LOVE TWILIGHT! I'm a twilight freak!

And, for your viewing pleasure...this is what I did to my car this week...no it's not a possesed shelf on the wall...but it's still comical.

You kinda have to tilt your head to the side to see it...I broke the bracket on the underside of my driver's side seat.

This is my brilliant friend welding the bracket back together all nice for me...he even reinforced it!

This is one side of the final product...the other side was the reinforced side.

Gotta love talented friends!!

Twilight....Breaking Dawn.

Has anyone here read this series? A friend of mine told me I had to read them because the 4th book was coming out...so, I remebered that my mom had told me something about these books, and so I stole them from her.

I love most things Vampire...even if it's a little hokey. Which Twilight can be sometimes. But, I loved these books...I'm really what you'd call a fast reader...but I ZOOMED through these books.

So, the 4th book called "Breaking Dawn" has a character from Ireland named, Siobhan, which is the spelling of my name, Chivaun, in Gaelic. The author, Stephenie Meyer, got some major brownie points from me on that one. It's not every day that I hear or read my name, and so I thought it was cool!

Nutsoid week

So...the hilskie saga continues...but first

My sister isn't the most musical person...she loves to sing and has taken piano lessons, but didn't really go very far...tonight a friend and I were messin' around learning some Weezer stuff...and she came out and asked if she could play something. I love weezer, and their bass lines are usually farely simple...so I taught her the bass line to "Island in the Sun"...and we Jammmed! It was fun...and I love that she wanted to play with us. Sisters are great...well...mine is anyways...

Ealier this week one of my absolute best friends, and some of you might have played with him...his gamertag is "Cathon"...I digress...He was in a really awful accident. Here's a picture...

He got sent to Harborview Hosptal in Seattle, which is a Level 1 trauma center. I have to tell you that it's is a miracle that he's not dead. He's gone from unconscious with a tube down his throat and bruises and neckbraces in just a few short days, he's awake, and up and eating, and his funny self. It really is a miracle. My mind has been racing a hundred miles an hour this week, it's finally kind of coming to a close. Crazy stuff like this makes you sit up and remember what's really important. Friends and Family are important...

To my friends in this amazing place...thank you! You constantly make my day... & I hope that you'll forgive my absence lately...

My new bed sucks!

So...you've no doubt read about my head injury when I got my new bed...if you haven't...scroll down.

Bought a new bed about a month ago...it is already falling apart. The bed is so poorly put together that the spring system on the inside is trying to get out.

So what would you do? I went to the damn furniture store. Told them what's going on, and the lady said, "Oh, that's not good!" Well, no shit shirlock! So, she takes my name and number and says that she's have the repair guy for the store call and come take a look at it. That was Tuesday...it is officially Saturday! It's only gotten worse as the week progressed. I paid approx. $650 for a TWIN bed. I did it because I had a bed by the same company that I absolutely LOVE! So, I figured it'd be the same quality. Boy was I wrong.

So, now I have to go fight with them and make them take back their bed, and let me pick out a new one. I don't want another one that's just gonna do the same damn thing, would you?

On a side note...my little black Dauchsund, Finley, is a mean bug killer! She eats flies like they're a yummy candy. Who needs a fly swatter?

Drumset a la Hilskie

I am so excited...finally...I put my drum set together...

Got a new (new to me) bass pedal off ebay for $25, it retails for $195...Not every day that kind of deal happens!!

I still need to clean my cymbals...didn't even wipe the dust off them...who has time for that when there's drumming to do??

So, here's a picture of my set up. Apparently, I really like the color burgundy...if you notice my bass guitar on the side...it's burgundy just like my drumset.

My head hurts..

Soooo...
Some of you keeping up with the Hilskie saga...I have officially gotten a smaller bed, and now my drum set fits in my room!!! I'm sooo excited! Well...there's a shelf over my bed, and I have had a bed in this spot before, but this new bed is a bit taller...you can probably tell where this is going...I wanted to get an extension chord behind the bed, as I laid on the bed to get behind it...

*WHAP*

I smacked my head into the corner of the shelf...and for your viewing pleasures...I post pictures. Most of the time head wounds bleed and bleed and bleed...even if they aren't that bad...me however...I'm not like that. It hardly bled at all...tho' I feel a little concussed...I feel pretty fortunate. If you look close you can see the corner in the gash.. LOL

Gravity sucks!

For as long as I can remember, my parents have had a waterbed. Today at 8am...my mom calls us in hysterics. Her water bed sprung a leak, and was leaking into the downstairs living room!!!

SO...my sister and I, being the good daughters we are, go to my mom's, and help. My dad is a Long haul trucker for some reason, so he's gone right now. It was such a mess people.

So, I got the hose hooked up to the bed, and draining properly...a little bit after this, I went outside to make sure it was still draining the bed.

I'm from Washington and it's been raining for like 2 weeks straight...and everything gets mildewy....I stepped off the porch and landed on my ass! UGH!!! My tailbone hurts so bad! I'm sitting on ice wishing I could just wake up in a few weeks when my back side doesn't hurt anymore. When things like this happen (falling on my ass, upstairs waterbed leaking), I'm reminded that....

GRAVITY SUCKS!

twin bed

So...i've decided to get a twin bed. Yeah, I know I'm not a little kid anymore...but sacrifices must be made. I'll tell you why...

My drumset doesn't fit in my house. I have missed my drums...I'm sure my neighbors won't be so jazzed about me having them in a few weeks. But...I don't care! My set is currently at a friends house...and since possession is 9/10 of the law...I need to get them out of there.

At the moment I have a Full size bed...it's not your average bed..it is the absolute most comfortable bed I have ever had! But if I get a twin bed, I will have room for my drumset. I have done all the measurements. Everyone around me thinks I'm crazy...but once it's all said and done...this is what will be in my room

High Speed Internet...What's that??

So, I moved into this house with my sister. Her friend is the owner, and when they leave for a new duty station, we'll be property managers for her. So...we are gettin' a sweet deal. However, there's no Cable/DSL in this little area. LIterally 10 feet fromt he City Limits & 100 yds from the Navy Golf Course which has Cable. It's ridiculous, I have been trying for 2 weeks to get High Speed Internet.

Now...other than the fact that I play online...I am a student and take online classes. For those of you who have used Blackboard, you know how picky it is with DSL/Cable...there's no way I could do it with Dial-up. UGH!!

I posted a thread in 2old2pwn, and got some really good ideas...but still, I am frustrated that being so close to the city limits, and there's no DSL/Cable. It's totally annoying. Anyone else have horror stories like that...

I have to find some place to play Halo2 because 2old2pwn's Survivor 2: Coag...is in full swing. I'm lovin it...but that's another story for another time.

I moved, YAY!

First off...Moving sucks! I know I'm stating the obvious. My sis and I have been planning for a couple months to move out, and the blessed day came today! Luckily I have really good friends with the hook ups...we were able to move everything in one load, and didn't have to pay for a moving truck! Yesterday the phone was up in, and today Directv...We got a sweet deal on DVR!! WOOT WOOT!!!

I'm so glad to be moved in...it's nice to be on our own...we get along really well, she's the best roomie ever. I didn't have to worry about decorating crap, all I had to do was put things together! That's what I'm talking about!

Cool thing happened too...our Landlord (who's a really good family friend) was doin' some Garage Sale-ing and found a washer and dryer set for $100...granted they aren't brand new, but they're really clean, and so far run great! I feel really fortunate, and quite blessed.

How do you be a good friend

So...I have this friend, his name is Andrew...he's a great guy, younger than me, but a great chum-around with kinda guy. His oldest sister, who is just a year or two older than me, has had cancer most of her adult life. He just called me to say that the plans we had for tomorrow are on hold because his sister is back in the hospital, and it's not looking good.

I don't exactly know how to act. I've never been the best friend of someone who is loosing a family member at such a young age. All I can tell him, or even think to tell him is that, I love him, and that he's in my thoughts and prayers. In all seriousness...he is. There is power in Prayer, and I don't know how to explain it...but, I guess that's all I can do really. At least that's how I feel.

My Nana passed away 2 years ago...I had no one. MY family, sure...but they were all going through the same thing, ya know? Sometimes you just need to talk to someone who is removed from the situation. My Nana was a daily part of my life...she was my best friend. There is not one major milestone through my life that she wasn't apart of. She never missed a band concert in the 7 years I was in Band...we had family dinners most Sunday evenings. She helped pay for my mission when I was 21...you see what I'm saying?

So this friend is loosing someone who has been apart of his life for as long as he can remember. I hope that I can be the support and strength that he needs.

To those who have become my friends...especially those in 2old2pwn...THANK YOU! Thank you for accepting me and becoming my friends, and a group of people I know I can rely on.

HELP...I'm making a movie

So...I'm helping my sis with a project...I'm using Windows Movie Maker...mostly because that's what my computer came with...I have the movie all together good...now all I have to do is add music/audio...mostly music...

I can't figure it out...

I don't know if I'm using the wrong music files, or if I am just a retard...you know those types of things...

Can anyone help a poor girl out??
