XBL Gamertag

So I was thinking and wondering how folks decide upon their XBL gamertags and thought, why not share the origin of Houdini's Angel? Everyone's got a reason, some obvious, some not so much--but all equally important as to why we spend as much time living as those entities online.

For me, "Houdini's Angels" is the name of a 7 Mary 3 song. Yes, the same 7 Mary 3 who plays "Cumbersome"...in fact I have it on personal record that Jason Ross goes home every night and practices that song (Cumbersome) just so he can look forward to playing it during each show for that one fan who screams it out for 60 minutes straight. Ahh but I digress.

It's a soulful song, one of my favorites, and one that I'm sure has many levels of meaning. Second chances, losing oneself in this technological world, and letting your actions speak for themselves to name but a few. It also doesn't hurt that it has a nice ring to it as a gamertag and allows me to call out, "Houdini!" during RSV killing sprees. So in closing, Houdini is a music nerd paying homage to a band (and a lyrics writer) with a Nice Work English degree. Folks, Go check out 7 Mary 3--not only is it more than Cumbersome, it's music as it ought to be.
