Customer Service 101

Many of you have seen my post in OT about my trials dealing with Comcast. Well yesturday not only did I have an appointment with Comcast but with Direct TV as well. Same time for both 8-12pm. While Comcast did not call or show up all day in keeping with their customer service of a monopoly, Direct TV did things a little differently.

At 11am the service tech calls my house and appologizes in advance because he will be late. The current job he is on is much bigger than expected and his supervisor has to come out and help him. At 1pm he calls again and tells us he is on his way. He shows up and appologizes again for being late. He looks into my problem (no HD local channels) and tells me what he thinks is wrong. He then calls his super to come by and see if they can come up with options so I don't have to cut any parts of my trees. They give me two other options and then the super suggests they get another tech to come by on Wed. if it was OK with me. He has a lot of experience in line-of-sight issues and has come up with creative fixes. I agree and the tech climbs on the roof of my out building where my dish is to attempt to move the dish just on the outside chance it would do something. I didn't and I was quite surprised at his effort.

Comcast could take some tips from Direct TV. It's service like this that has kept me a Direct TV customer for over 10 years.

Btw, some weeks ago I emailed Brian Roberts, the CEO of Comcast. Last night I sent him another email reguarding his customer service "professionals" and the way they conduct themselves. Apperently I have been blocked as my email was returned "undeliverable".

I am too stupid to have a blog.

I can't make the fucking pictures show up. I only have so much patience. I tried what seemed logical and no pics or I was told I don't have permission. If I ever figure it out I am gonna post a pic of my ass for Media Crumb to kiss. F off.

I feel a little better know. Almost.

My week

I spent this past week in a 8x12 foot room assembling engines. The whole week. Usually it is only for a day to two and I get a break to do something else. Don't get me wrong, I like it, it's the room I can do without. My company is purchasing a new building and I will have atleast double the space I have now.

This is a 911 Turbo engine. It's a single turbo motor (930) from an 86 car. 3.3 liters and roughly 300hp. Stock rebuild due to owner driving with no oil. More money than brains....

Here, I am CC'ing a cylinder head to measure compression ratio.

One bank of pistons and cylinders assembled and installed.

Cylinder heads complete and installed on engine. Still a long way to go.

This is a 928 engine. It was a 5 liter engine that made 320hp in stock form. Now it is 6 liters and has a supercharger. It made over 600hp when I originally built it 8 years ago.

I still have a 2.7 944 engine to do, a 3.8 naturally aspirated 911 race motor, a stock rebuild on a 3.2 911 engine and a couple of transmissions. Hopefully we will move soon so I am not so crampt.....

GPS and Sabbath - They don't go together.

Why is it that the average commuter that owns a GPS needs to have it on and on their dashboard driving on a road they commute on EVERY day?!?!  I see the same people everyday with their fuggin GPS lite up like over night gnomes changed the direction of the road or someone moved Tysons Corner. I really want to stop one of these people and ask why.

On another I got tickets to see Black Sabbath, Megadeth and Machine Head May 18th. Meeting some fellow 2old2pwn clanmates for the show.
