Halo3 release

I called the gamestop where I preordered my copy of "legendary", and found out there are only 692 preorders there. I'm not too keen on the idea of standing in line with 800 people. My boss gave me a ration of shit for wanting the day off for a video game, and my wife thinks i'm insane. I'm not too sure if I'll pick it up at midnight like I wanted.

Who am I kidding, I'll be there!

Bioshock

I downloaded the Bioshock demo to check it out. My wife was watching with her standard, "oh boy, another game" face on.

It was pretty late, so I went to bed. Until I fell asleep I heard her playing for at least 30 mins.

Guess what? Today she's playing the full version. Not a gamer my ass! She's addicted! I'm very happy about it.

She can play it for at least another 29 days, then it's Halo time baby!

Gaming in HD!

I finally upgraded to HD, man! What a difference! 480 to 1080 is quite a jump, only for gears, and Rb6v so far. The rest of the games I have come in at 720, still nice!

I ended up getting the 37" Vizio, I looked at it side by side with the 42" Vizio and a few other brands. It Had the best picture so it was the one for 759.00, they got me on the stand though, 200.00!

I couldn't just set it on an orange crate like in the old days! LOL

New HD tv

I've been working extra shifts so much lately, that I can finally afford an HD!

I've pretty much narrowed it down to a 37" Vizio for 759.00 or a 42" Magnavox for 999.00

Both LCD's Both 1080p

Really looking forward to H3 in high def.

Anyone think they are bad choices?

It's raining here this morning. It really doesn't rain all that often here, so it gives the morning a "new" feeling. I feel like staying home and gaming all day with some tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Viva Pinata

After trying the beta, I decided to get this game. After having it less than a day some surprising results.

When i'm playing halo or gears etc... and my wife walks in the room, she usually rolls her eyes and walks away, off to find anything new with her beloved CSI show.

I made her try pinata, this may have been a mistake. Now I have to compete for 360 time! I was so excited to see her getting into a game, that I didn't consider the implications of my selfish game habit. After a while she looked over at me, and I must have looked sad as hell, because the words that came out of her mouth were the most unexpected. "We may have to get another 360."

I'm going to spend my sunday picking my jaw up off the floor.

I love this recipe for mac and cheese

This is the best mac n cheese i've ever had. My family loved it! I also got to try a new cheese (Fontina) which i'm quite fond of now.

18 pieces extra-large shell pasta
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 cup tasso ham or bacon
5 large shallots, minced
1 clove garlic, mined
1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup white wine
2 cups cream
1 cup grated fontina
1/2 cup grated sharp Cheddar
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan
18 medium to large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 cups gently packed spinach
Kosher salt and ground white pepper
Hot pepper sauce, to taste (recommended: Tabasco)
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup chopped Italian parsley leaves Preheat broiler.

Bring a large post of water to a rolling boil, add pasta shells and cook al dente, according to package instructions.

Meanwhile, in a large skillet, add the olive oil and tasso or bacon, cook until just crisp,
then add shallots and garlic. Cook and stir over moderate heat just until shallots are translucent. Add the flour, cook stirring constantly to blend and toast the flour, about 5 minutes. Add the white wine, reduce until almost dry. Add the cream, bring to a simmer until the sauce coats the back of a spoon, about 5 to 10 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the cheeses, shrimp and spinach. Gently stir until cheese is melted, spinach is wilted and shrimp is beginning to turn pink. Season with salt and white pepper, to taste. Season with hot sauce, to taste.

Drain the pasta, making sure to shake all of the water off and out of the shells.

In a large ovenproof baking dish, place drained shells. Add the cheese and shrimp mixture and gently fold into the pasta. Sprinkle with the bread crumbs and chopped parsley. Place under the broiler until the breadcrumbs are toasted about 2 to 3 minutes.

Ahh, a day off work.

I'll be off work all day today, planning on getting seriously reaquainted with my 360 with lots of halo, and maybe scrounging up some achievements i've missed in other games. If anyone else is off and bored hit me up for some 2o2p gaming bliss.
