Oh Teh Haloz and X3F Fanswag

It has been a couple of weeks since my last post. I have been very busy pacing back and forth waiting for 9/25. The funny thing is that I wasn't even very interested in Halo 3 up until all of the mad marketing surrounding me for this game. Now I simply cannot take the wait any longer. I have also been working very hard lately. I work for a company that provides banking solutions and event management software for nonprofit organizations. The busiest times for fundraising are the Spring and the Fall. I have been a little too stressed out to write a new entry. This has all changed now that the Ducks are 4-0 following a brief scare from Stanford and Teh Haloz! I believe that the Ducks jumped out to a 21-3 lead in the first quarter only to start thinking about Halo 3 and quickly Stanford capitalized. It is obvious that at halftime Master Chief gave a rousing locker room speech that Double D and J-Stew took very seriously. They came out in the third quarter trailing 31-24 and scored 31 unanswered points. The defense also clamped down and created 2 turnovers in the second half. Thank you Master Chief!! Believe!

I have also been very busy (not really) posting comments over at xbox360fanboy to try and win their "Ultimate Halo 3 Fanswag Giveaway". It includes a 50" Panasonic 1080P plasma tele, an Elite 360, and a Bose 3-2-1 surround system. I know I am going to win this Swag because Master Chief came to me in a dream and told me to comment one time each day until the 28th of September and then to wake him up "When September Ends". It was very moving!

The Oregon Ducks just finished up beating Michigan 39-7 in the Big House! This is a great win for them and I hope they continue to play this well ALL season. They had well over 600 yards of total offense and it was split pretty evenly between the air and the ground. Dennis Dixon threw for about 290 yards and 3 TD's to go along with about 80 yards on the ground and 1 more TD. Stewart and Johnson both ran very well for the Ducks who improve to 2-0 on the season. This win will likely catapult them into the Top 25 for the first time this season. You can check out the ESPN recap here.

I killed doodirock!

Kind of...well...once.  In the COD4 beta last night!  I think he killed me a few more times than that though.  It was great seeing all of those 2o2p clan tags.  It really made me feel at home.  I have been spending all of my free time playing COD4 and I still love it even though I am usually near the bottom of the scoreboard each round.  Unfortunately my time last night got cut off because my 14 month old son started puking in his crib!  His name is Cole by the way, hence the gamertag forcole06.  I know it is not as fashionable as something like xX n00bslay3r Xx or something like that but I like it.

I would like to give credit to who introduced me to 2o2p in the first place.  Trixie's interview with dsmooth and doodirock over at xbox.com would be where I first heard of 2o2p.  I have to admit that when I first heard the name doodirock I was not thinking "dude I rock" I was thinking more along the lines of Joe Dirt's meteorite.

I am just messin' with ya doodirock.  It was really great playing with you guys last night and if MGOBLUE reads this...

Metroid Prime 3, COD 4 MP Beta, and the Oregon Ducks

I wrote a blog entry last night and had just over three paragraphs about the subjects in my title. I was trying to preview it and play with the text editor to get used to it and see what all I can do with it. Well, needless to say I lost it all and I think I even broke the website. I haven't been able to access it until just now at 1:27 pm PST. I will now attempt to diligently recreate the blog from last night without breaking the site again!

First up is Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. As of last night I had only played 30-45 minutes and was just getting a feel for it. At this point today I have now played it for 2-3 hours and it is a great game! I love the controls and it really does add a level of immersion previously not possible in a Metroid game. The only problem that I have with them is the lock-on feature. You can lock on to a target but still have free aim which is a great feature but the lock on piece is very hit-and-miss. Quite often I will hit the button to lock-on and even though there is a baddie right in front of me the lock-on doesn't recognize it and I end up strafing rather than circling the enemy. Thank god Metroid is more about exploration and discovery rather than running and gunning because I am not sure how the controls would handle that kind of pressure. Metroid is by far my favorite series in the Nintendo universe and I recommend this latest entry to anyone who has a Wii! Also check out Gametrailers' Metroid Retrospective.

Next up I want to talk about my time with the COD4 MP Beta. This game has piqued my interest in online multi-player games. I have never really given them too much of a chance because I have very little patience with sucking! I have really learned to enjoy them with the help of the Halo 3 Beta and now even more so with the COD4 Beta. I am still not great by any means but the RPG elements of the COD4 Beta have really got me hooked. I love playing over and over just to unlock the next attachment for my rifle! I hope that we get a level increase soon as I have been maxed out at 11 for a while now. I guess I should really be working on upgrading each weapon though since I have spent almost all of my time with the M4. Thank you Infinity Ward for showing me how fun online multi-player can really be!

Finally I need to talk college football for a moment. I am a Ducks fan and they played their first game of the season in Eugene yesterday against the Houston Cougars. They started off quick on offense but after quickly driving down-field and taking a 7-0 lead they started to sputter just a bit. At halftime the score was 20-17, Ducks over the Cougars. Houston tied the game 20-20 early in the third quarter and from that point the Ducks finally got things going. They outscored Houston 28-7 to end the game. In case you have trouble with math, that makes the final score 48-27.

Next up for the Ducks are the Michigan Wolverines. They are currently ranked #5 in the nation but that will change following a home loss to a 1-AA team in the Big House yesterday. This really stinks for the Ducks because they are going to play a Michigan team that is fired up and angry about having what is possibly the most embarrassing loss in college football history! The Ducks run the same style offense as Appalachian St. and I am confident that they can run it better than App St. but Michigan will probably be much more prepared for this game. I guess we will just have to wait and see how the Ducks and Wolverines do this Saturday. The game is on ABC at 12:30 Pacific/3:30 Eastern.

30 Year Old Virgin...

How does it feel to be a 30 year old virgin?  A little awkward, a little embarrassing.  You know the routine.  As of this moment though, I am no longer a virgin!  I have popped my proverbial blog cherry.  Although I am still not sure how it feels.  I will need some time to ponder this life-changing act before I can truly express how I feel. 

Oh fuck it!  Who am I kidding anyways?  No one will be reading this anytime soon.  Hold on... if no one reads this does that mean I am still a virgin?  Is this reader-less blog more akin to literary masturbation?  I guess I will find out soon enough.
