damn colds!

so i got another cold. sucks. had the flu 2 months ago, week later i got food poisening. now i have a stuffed head and cough alot. normally i get sick about once a year. i dont know what the hell is happening.

did you ever notice that you have messed up dreams when you have a cold? i had one about this girl i know. weird stuff. nothing dirty. just weird. i would prefer dirty. i dont know what it is, but when i have a cold i have really vivid dreams that i can remember. not sure if i like that.

indiana jones trilogy is back on today. maybe ill try to catch last crusade since i went out last night and missed it. i got pretty loaded last night. i think that was the theme of the night, become a wasted pile of crap. i think everyone at the bar was shitfaced come closing time. usually only a few are shitty, the rest are just a bit buzzed. i think the pull tab lady and the head cook have a crush on me, they seem to gravitate towards me all the time. thankfully i end up having some cute girl i know come up and talk to me towards the end of the night and they end up stepping off. gets a little awkward when you dont like them at all like that but you can tell they like you. usually stare at you with the deer in headlights kind of look. wouldnt be so bad if they were at least a little attractive. whatever. ego boost either way.

i got up around 8 am this morning (not bad considering i didnt go to sleep till 3:30). didnt have a hangover. loves me the vodka. i never get hangovers from that stuff. nine vodka redbulls, 3 beers and 2 jag bombs (back to back bombers. yeesh) and i slept like a rock. shitty thing is that when i wake up that early i want to play some halo. nobody is online that early on sundays. sucks.

deadliest catch is well into its 4th season. i love that fucking show. my two favorites are the northwestern and the time bandit. the captains are cool as shit. i wouldnt mind working for guys like that. kinda a tough love type of boss. i missed last weeks show but they usually replay them on sundays. ill have to try to catch it tonight. if you havent seen this show, first, climb out from under that rock, second, watch it. you will love it. awesome show. one of the few reality shows that are actual reality. kinda half excited about the game coming out. i know its not going to be a great game. but if its at least kinda fun and has some decent length i may consider getting it. ill wait for the metascore on that one.

so its been awhile

i havent blogged in about 9 months. guess i just didnt feel like it. so ill put another one up here just for the hell of it.

work: its been a bit slower then usual. you can really tell the economy is on a slow down. its kinda nice though, it used to be where i was running my ass off just to try and keep up, now its slow enough to where i can take my time and get things just right. im over that hump to where i hate my job. ive been here long enough to know most everything i need to know. everything else i can figure out. no real interesting stories as of late. just the run of the mill type stuff.

life: its been good. nothing to spectacular going on. its gonna be my 30th next month. my friends are planning a party for me. should be a good time. its on a saturday so im sure everyone will be pretty messed up by the end of the night. minnesota and wisconsin people drinking together. should be a blast.

friends: a few new babies and some on the way. makes me feel young watching all my friends raise kids and me not have any. someday ill have one or two. but now im just having way to much fun being single and not having and parental responsibilities.

by the way. to anyone who is reading this, the indiana jones trilogy is playing on sci-fi channel tonight. about 1/4 of the way into temple of doom.

football: getting ready for the big season. this is a make or break year for the vikings. we have a hell of a team so far this year. with t-jack having one year under him and some decent recievers maybe we can make a go at the big game. we have a huge offensive and defensive line this year. as long as they stay healthy i think everything else will fall into place. peterson will have a huge season i think. this will be the team to watch this year.

baseball: twins are plugging right along. second place right now. still early in the season and they usually end the season really strong. should be fun to watch.

temperature: thank christ we finally have decent weather. we would have one nice day and 5 shitty cold ones. its been nice lately. spring temps are great here. summer gets a little humid.

you are my fantasy

so im now 2-0 in fantasy football. this may be the second week i have gotten both the head to head win and the overall leader in points. thank you vikings defense! 29 last week, 20 this week. to bad we lost today to the lions though. but it was a hell of a game. really crazy how many turnovers. 10 combined. 3 int's and 2 fumble recoveries for the vikes d. and one of the fumbles were returned for a td. 2 frickin int's by sharper. thank you green bay for giving us your defense!

and everyone gave me shit for picking the vikings d instead of some other teams. i know they will be good. hell, its the only chance outside adrian peterson the vikes have of winning this season. unless tarvarious steps up. he is looking a little better week by week. i think he may do ok. and i like that he isnt using his feet to win for us. he owns that talent. that wont leave him for a few more seasons. he needs to learn to read defenses and throw the ball to the right guy. of course it would help if we didnt have stone hand recievers. i fucking hate our recievers. garbage players.

other then that i had a pretty decent weekend. my brother in law had an open house for his custom bike shop saturday. so i went and helped with that. good time. free food. then i got free tickets to a red bull promotional party. pretty cool. real rave like. sweet though. lots of hot chicks. and lots of people i knew. good time for some free booze. course i couldnt fall asleep till 5 am. thats ok. got up in time to watch the noon game and then the vikes. helped out a buddy move into his new place, and now im back here. typing on my computer and watching my fantasy stats continually rise. i just hope that the new england/san diego game has a ton of points. i have brady and l.t.

and i still have a tight end for washington to play tomorrow. so i can hope for about 3 points out of him. yeah, 3 points. i hate t.e.'s for fantasy points. they are so few and far between.

whoops!

so yeah. i was at work today, and to anyone who doesnt know, i install doors and door hardware. wood and steel doors, steel frames.

well...i had to cut in something into a frame and a college here in town. so i mark up what i need to cut out, drill a couple holes, and realize that i need to cover the smoke alarms so i dont set them off. usually the places i go to have covers for me to use. but this place didnt. so i had to use a rubber glove. well.....when you stretch a rubber glove sometimes it snaps. and sometimes your not ready for it. i hit my hand on the smoke alarm and set it off.

not just one smoke alarm mind you. all of them. in both the connected buildings. and the one next to it. so i had about 200 pissed off college kids across the street from me, pissed off because they were in their dorms. not class. and i didnt know what to do, i called the guy ive been dealing with about 4 times. didnt answer. called 911 and had them tell the firefighters that it was a false alarm. so only one fire truck showed up. and one cop. but thats ok. i didnt need anymore to feel like a complete jackass.

my only thing i can cling to is, everyone who is in this line of work has done this. so i guess i broke my cherry!

so the vikings kicked some falcon ass today. everyone looked decent on offense and the d looked amazing. great game to go to for my first time.

started off by leaving last night at about 8:30 pm to go from 2 and a half hour drive to the twin cities. we stay at my buddy's parents new house because they were out of town for the weekend. fucking amazing house! 2 million dollar house. brand spank me new. everything was wood and looked very antique. awesome house. one of the people who came with us brought a couple bottles of red wine. not really a fan of wine, but it was free. we proceded to drink those two and 5 white wines his parents had. plus about 18 beers. thats between four of us. kinda drunk. i went to bed around 5 a.m. before everyone else. i was up at 10 am. felt like someone kicked my ass. we all got ready and decided to take my friends parents new lexus to the game. first words out of his mouth was "im gonna beat this thing within an inch of its life". dont ask me why. thats just how he is. good guy, just kinda a bone-head. beat it he did. flew down the highway at about 100mph. then we find a half parking spot that if we could fit in, we could park for free. three of us get out of the car to help him park it, and so we arent trapped inside the car when he does park it. well......5 seconds later, CRUNCH! screaming "STOP" apparently does nothing when this kid is driving. yep. a 70,000 dollar car now has a jeep liberty bumper buried into its side. my stomach sank. i thought my driver friend would be pissed. he said "oh, well" and we left. stupid. stupid, stupid, stupid. then we find another spot by the dome, but we have to park on a curb. so he pulls up to the curb, front wheels are ok. back end scrapes along the cement curb like a giant fork on a chalkboard. he didnt care. meanwhile im in the backseat with my face buried in my hands shaking head thinking his dad is going to kill him.

anyway, we get there. watch the ass-whooping they gave the falcons, and left for his parents again. for some reason he had to jump another curb to get into the right lane. scrapes again. "ok retard, thats enough of ruining your dads car". "dude, he wont care". "oh, yeah, ok. its only a new car"

we get back to his parents, wipe off the dust that looked like a huge scratch on the door, and all that was left was two tiny unnoticeable dents. bottom of the car is fine to. you lucky son of a bitch. his parents get back, they have no idea. they walk me around the house and show me everything. didnt care we drank half of the booze in the house.
