just a short thought

I actually made it home by 7:30 last night!  Nice.  And the reason prolly was cuz I drove instead of taking the bus.  It doesn't come very often after the college students all head out.  The bus is ok.  It's free.  Parking is free.  And, entertainment is free.

Late

So, today is the day.  This is the very reason, well, one of them, that I didn't want to go to permanent full time.  It's called "late nurse".  The late nurse is the last nurse standing, when everyone else, including patients, have gone home.  This could be anywhere from 6:00 to 9:00.  I am already late every night!  But, I will be later tonite.

My daughter called yesterday.  She and family were invited to the in-laws for Thanksgiving in Wilmington, better known as the beach.  Tempting, yes, but we had already talked cuz we knew this would happen, and she told them she was already committed to coming to my house.  So, they are coming here.  That adds 3 more to the table, which makes 9.  I hate odd numbers.  You sure you can't make it, Brian?  Dinner is at 5:00.  There's good and bad about this.  Good:  not as many leftovers.  Bad:  Eek!  I hafta clean the house!!!!  Since hubby has been househusband, housecleaning has gone down the tubes.  He likes to watch TV, piddle around in the yard, go shopping (every day!) and take naps.  Housecleaning is not on his to do list.  And, it really isn't on mine either.....  I have absolutely NO TIME during the week, and weekends are sooooo short.  But, this weekend will be spent making the house look respectable, at least.  Blah.....

nuttin hunny

I have been a bit unhappy with this work stuff, but am starting to get used to not having a life and no time for anything. This is my "alone time", merely 30 minutes, and it's almost gone. Booooo. I had time to play 45 minutes of Fable before bed last night. No Magic. Sorry guys, but I had to decide.

So, a little email humor to start the day.....

Young Chuck in Montana bought a horse from a farmer for $100. The farmer agreed to deliver the horse the next day. The next day he drove up and said, 'Sorry son, but I have some bad news, the horse died.'

Chuck replied, 'Well, then just give me my money back.'

The farmer said, 'Can't do that. I went and spent it already'

Chuck said, 'Ok, then, just bring me the dead horse.'

The farmer asked, 'What ya gonna do with him?

Chuck said, 'I'm going to raffle him off.'

The farmer said, 'You can't raffle off a dead horse!'

Chuck said, 'Sure I can, Watch me. I just won't tell any body he's dead.'

A month later, the farmer met up with Chuck and asked, 'What happened with that dead horse?'

Chuck said, 'I raffled him off. I sold 500 tickets at two dollars a piece and made a profit of $998.'

The farmer said, 'Didn't anyone complain?'

Chuck said, 'Just the guy who won. So I gave him his two dollars back.'

Chuck grew up and works now for the government. He was the one who figured out how to "bail us out".

 

Alone time

This is my "alone time", 7:00-7:30 in the morning.  It's quiet.  Sometimes I catch some friends online and chat for a while.  I also can sit here and wonder why????  Why did I go back to work full time???  I am adjusting.  But, the weekends are now incredibly short as well as my evenings.  Will it work out in the end?  Hope so.  Money, my own insurance, my own credit card (and credit, period), and no debt....yes, house and cars are totally mine.  This all = independence, imo.  I keep getting warned by hubby that he won't be around much longer.  Sorta like "it's the big one...arghhhh".  Sometimes I think if he says it one more time I will ask him if he wants some help.  Nah.  I'd get caught, for sure.

Back to Fable II.  I had some very frustrating time with it yesterday.  It kept freezing up.  Actually, it happened so fast I didn't even get to play.  So, I gave it a rest, played some WoW, and went back to it.  I don't know what I did that was different, but it played and I spent some time beating up on highway robbers and learning how to be a blacksmith.  Hmmm, different, but reminds me of some other games I've played.  I think I like it......  It's good when I am in one of my cranky moods and my clannies are getting the brunt of it.  Yeh, I need a break from getting whupped all the time.  When I start counting how many games I've lost in a row, it's gotten bad and time to do something else.  I've been deck building....well, Magic IS a card game, after all.  I like to build and test decks.  But, my guys seem to always be a step ahead of me with tougher and nastier decks.  Ack!  Kill me now........  But, I digress.  Yes, after I get the hang of this Fable thing, I want to coop with y'all.  Time zone is a challenge, Meemoos, but.....we can work it out.

Thought for the day....An email wouldn't hurt.

There's a dead bird in my fridge!  Eek!  Oh, wait, I think it's a turkey.  Hmmmmm.  Moving right along..

I chatted with my friend in Australia yesterday morning.  Ohhhh, was that nice.  I hadn't heard from him in a long time.  Luv u Andrew!!!

I can feel Fable II pulling me in.  So far I am just in the very beginning and it is very easy to play.  Just right for me!  I just got to my first town, and, per some friends' advice, I will stock up on celery!!!  So far it's a cute little game.  I am sure it gets more than cute before long, since I am a hero and all.  I have tried the FPS games and lack the coordination and skill to play them, so this is a refreshing change on xbox.   I was actually considering a PS3.  OK, Christmas is coming, so I am still considering it.  I do luv my toys.
