Beer Review : Unibroue's Trois Pistoles
I realize that the last review I did was another Unibroue but I'm going to do this one anyway.
Trois Pistoles (or 3 pistols) is a dark as hell tripel from Unibroue brewery in Canada. Not much head, it has the perfect amount of carbonation. The initial sip lets you really feel the 9% alcohol content. It actually stings your nostrils. The palette is almost citrusy (think of a really dank, strong orange, not like hooegarden), and rather sweet. You definitely feel it on the sides of your tongue. The finish is actually a bit rough. I think the malt tastes a little burned, but there is a strong hint of cinammon as well.
Overall, it's worth trying once. A 750ML will run you around $11 and at 9%, it's definitely not a session beer.

Beer Review: La Fin Du Monde by Unibroue
La Fin Du Monde by Unibroue
La Fin Du Monde is an interesting beer. It has a french name, its brewed in Canada, but it's a Belgian style ale. La Fin Du Monde actually means End of the World" in French. and honestly, if you drink more than 4 of them in a night, you'll be feeling that too. These beasts are 9% alcohol, which is twice as strong as your Budweiser or Miller Lite. They are brewed by the Unibroue brewery in Calgary, who are known for great Belgian style beers. La Fin Du Monde is triple fermented with select yeasts and malts to give it that crisp golden color. The initial pour into our Duvel Snifter gives off hints of citrus, and apple, along with about one inch of a white foamy head.
The taste is incredible. The sweetness and fizziness of the carbonation that hit the front of your mouth, with the malt and yeast taking over the back if your tongue. You would never believe it's 9%. The finish is a tart sour apple taste, yet still sweet and you will be wanting another sip.
The big 750MLs will cost you about $13, and 4 packs of the 12 oz bottles will run around $9-10
This is one of the best beers in the world, and you owe it to yourself to experience it.
