Nightmare at my Mom's street

I dont know if it is all the stress from work, or that I have not played any games for the past week becuase I wanted to spend time with my Mom and family.Or this is somehow a way to break an addiction. My wife has told me a few times that I might be addicted to gaming. Maybe I am, maybe is just an illusion or the need for something I dont have right now.

Have you ever had a nightmare that last the entire night? Well that's what happened to me. Dont know if it's because I am to obsessed with Valve's game Team Fortress 2, or the fact that I am upset with them because there wont be a demo for us XBOX players. Last night I kept having the same nightmare that I was talking to one of Valve's developers, discussing why they did not have a demo for Xbox and looking for ways for me to gain access to the game in the PC via my Xbox. Cant you imagine how f$$# up that sounds??Somehow I need to bypass Xbox live, get to the internet, find someone that has pre-ordered the Orange Box or just find Valve's servers and join their session from my 360. I guess anything is possible in your dreams. However the entire night was the same nightmare over, and over, and over. And everytime I woke up I kept thinking: Is this really a dream??? Will I meet one of Valve's developers and have the chance to discuss how can I get to the demo?

You might think: "Well Purg, you can buy the PC version and get to the demo next week" Hell NO!!!!. First I will need to upgrade both the RAM memory of my PC and the video card, then I might think of buying A game for PC. I dont have money. That's why i have 2 jobs to be able to afford SOME games for 360 and my wife's DS. I cant even imagine spending an additional 200-300 just to play one game. Not that TF2 does not deserve that kind of money, but with this fall's lineup of games, I dont have the extra cash.

However......FASA closed their operations today, meaning I should get rid of my copy of Shadowrun as soon as possible because noone will support it. I actually feel kinda sad. Shadowrun is a great game. It has been years since a game hooked me so much as Shadowrun. The last time I felt like that was with StarWars Battlefront series. I played it so much that I just cant play it anymore. Probably the game is worth less than $10. I guess anything helps.

I keep telling myself: I hope TF2 delivers. I just cant wait for that game to be released. With all these nightmares, posts on my blog that talk only about TF2, and my ADHD acting up because of this game, I guess you can call me an addict. YES. I have an addiction. I am addicted to TF2 and the game is not even out. Should I go to the doctor now?

Feels Good!

It feels good just the opportunity to write more stuff in my blog. I am on VC from my other job and I have more time to read and write on the forums. However I'm still not writing as much because the wife and family have me running around from place to place (relative, dinners, shopping, etc).

This weekend will be spent at a villa next to the beach. I guess that will be my break!! NOT!! I will be moving from the beach, to the pool, back to the beach. Eat. Back to the pool,. You get the idea.

For all parents out there, do you ever get a "REAL BREAK"?

La Isla del Encanto!!

I feel much exited to be writing from the "Isla del Encanto" (Island of Enchantment). This is how we call the island of Puerto Rico. I needed some time off from the office environment and wanted to present the "newest addition" on my family to my relatives in the island (my son is already 11 months, so is not that new). Even though I am still "working", it is very relaxing to be sitting at a Starbucks, and just be here near the beach. Mostly the week will be spent at going from house to house so that everyone can meet my son. I am proud and very thankful to God to give me this opportunity even if it is almost when he turns 1 year old.

You see, my son had to go through open heart surgery at the age of 4 months. Even after a month old, we knew he had to go through this surgery. So as parents those were the worst months we could go through. It was close to winter time and since our son could get sick very easily, we could not leave the house with him (honestly, I am not kidding). For four months, I was the only one who left the house to work (2 jobs). Then on w/e, my mom in law came to my house to baby-sit, while we did grocery shopping. It was a nightmare. Everytime my son started coughing, or sneezing, we waited to see if we needed to go to a hospital or not.

Thank God, everything went well during the surgery. After that, we needed to wait until my son was strong enough to be able to fly. So here we are. This w/e, we rented a villa in the southeast side of the island. We will stay very close to the beach. So close that you will get out of the door and be right there at the shore

Anyway during this time, I have no access to my Xbox. So no COD4 for a week. According to some rumors, Valve will be making a huge announcement regarding team fortress 2; so you might imagine how my nerves are acting up. I cant stop drinking coffee and cant stop going to the bathroom . I am thinking they will be saying something about DLC after release. Not sure.....CANT WAIT!!!

So, it felt good writing for a bit. Now I need to go back and do some real work. To all that read this, thanks for taking the time. For the rest, HAPPY GAMING!!!

Very Dissapointed

So today was the exclusive preview of the force unleashed game on Entertainment Tonight. I was extremely tempted to skip work, just to see that preview. But I didn’t . And THANK GOOOOODD!!!. I used my DVR to record the program and heck since it was in HD, I was going to be able to record (IN HD) the preview my next star wars game. I was sooooooooo dam exited. So as soon as I returned from work, I look for my recorded programming and started playing. When I first saw the graphics, the music on the trailer, I ALMOST COME. LITERATELY. I died and I am in HEAVEN. But then...I decided to play back....you know all the excitement.....When I paid close attention to the detail, the trailer looks more like a concept art animation than actual in gameplay video. Once again, Lucas Arts gets me exited for something, to let me down. I wish "friggin" marketing techniques were different than just show something (concept art), when you really don’t have nothing, or just don’t want to show it.

More on Assasin's Creed

So last night I was watching the live feed from the Xbox conference. They showed a demo of Assasin's Creed and let me tell you, it is looking gooooooooooood. The game has impressive graphics. Trully next GEN details. They showed a view of the entire city of Damasco (HUGE) and they said:"EVERY BUILDING YOU SEE CAN BE REACHED". The AI looks pretty good. It reacts to the enviroment and they will not have the same reaction every time. They also showed the pursuit of Al'Tair (main character) to one of the targets and it gave me chills when I saw the jump and the sticking of the knife to the neck.

Once I get my hands on the video, I will post it.

Always remember your first time...

Ok...well I have never been into writing blogs. But I guess I should give it a chance. I am a business analyst for a technology company (very well known). I write technical documentations for our developers to code funcionality added to a website. Married 2 kids. One daughther 4 1/2 and a son 9 months. i've been a gamer for as long as I can remember. Played on Atari (different versions), Sega, SEga Genesis, NES, SNES, Game Boy and any other handheld game you can imagine. Anyway I am at work right now so I should return, to continue on my research.
