merry christmas, happy holidays or whatever term you prefer to use. i prefer merry christmas, fuck anyone else's personal religion or beliefs during this holiday. this is what i believe in and you can either like it or don't. i don't use this holiday to go nuts on gifts or expect gifts in return, this is a holiday to remember that every day of your life you need to live like it's the christmas holiday, not just one month or day out of the year. try it, you'll see that the world will slowly become a better place one day at time, one person at a time.......pay it the fuck forward! hahahahahahaha!

iz can haf monday?

dear lord where did the weekend go? and thank god i have the next two weeks off from work! after completing my shift at the station on saturday, i took what was supposed to be a two hour drive up north to see a comedian buddy of mine perform. well for whatever fucking reason, there were slowdowns all over the place, none due to wrecks or cops pulling people over, just unexplained stoppage. it took me almost 4 hours to drive 106 miles, incredible. so finally make it to the hotel, shower, get some smokes for the evening and go hang out in the club until 9. the first couple of opening acts were OK but then my buddy hit the stage to headline and he killed. the man has a talent for reading the room and getting in touch with the audience that is simply amazing. anyhoo, after the show we hit a bar down the street and left about 3am and headed back to the hotel for more fun with some groupies we (or rather i should say he, since i'm just the tag-a-long, heh) picked up at the bar and finally called it an "evening" at 7am. woke straight the fuck up at 10, wide awake, showered, said my goodbyes, hit the road and was home by 1:30 where i promptly laid out on the couch and napped till 4. now i get to go to wally world and then my day is done and spend it either online or walking the world of fallout 3 after i get my router straight......couple shots below from the previous night. if you're into straight forward, no holds barred, honest comedy check my buddy out at www.sladeham.com or at www.myspace.com/sladehamcomedy

vacation baybee

well here i am on vacation for the week and do i get to play games? nope, i instead find stuff to do other than sitting on my ass in front of the tube with drool escaping from the corner of my mouth.......

yes it's a one-bedroom apartment and for those that kept up, it's now a very cozy place to be and for those that have made it this far thru my blog, i picked up GoW2 last night, not just GoW2 but the damn limited edition GoW2, shit it's heavy! and for the extra ten bucks, it's not worth it IMO. but that's just me, so i shall be popping this bad boy in shortly and see if it lives up to the hype. i did enjoy the first one but never got past the first level (being insanely drunk and playing it one time that is) and from the reviews and opinions this looks like a worthy title to have picked up........no youtube today peeps, the window into my life was enuff, heh.

one more day.......

one more full work day and half of another and i will be in slacker heaven! w00t!

played some soul caliber iv last night after getting the NXE and made my avatar. the graphics are gorgeous, some of the moves are killer but it failed to "wow" me and i was too lazy to look up the controls so just kinda mashed my way thru it and figured most of them out. i just kept thinking to myself, i want street fighter or mortal kombat or tekken or hell, even toshinden (which was totally awesome on the ps1 when you were stoned).......call me old school i guess but fighting games that get so complex into their button combo's just doesn't entertain me very much. i'm in no way slow or stupid, well i guess it depends on which exwife you talk to, but it just seems a waste of time to memorize hitting keys in a litany of b, x, y, a, rt, lr, push this down, squat jump 3 times, spin on your heels and then click them three times to perform the super-duper-totally-outrageous-funkadelic one combo kill move. thanks but no thanks so that game is going back to gamefly today so now i get to screw around with ninja gaiden while still feeding my fallout3 addiction.

1 1/2 days to vacation! double w00t!

anyhoo, i see the stock market plunged below 8 grand due to the worries over whether we will bail out the automotive giants, that even though they're about broke, they still managed to find the funds to board a private jet and fly to meet congress to ask for help with taxpayer money. gotta love the corporate cats, they have balls. screw 'em all i say, plunge our society back into another great depression, do a global reset and let every freakin' business go under. i mean, they do have teams of accountants right? they couldn't see this coming? where are the indictments for cooking the books? anyhoo, i'm just ranting and have no real purpose other than to do just that, rant with no feasible back up to support it other than my own theories based upon the right-wing web-sites and liberal radio shows i listen to on a daily basis. ;)

and just because i'm looking forward to cooking my ass off on sunday and enjoying some much needed downtime from work and the trials and tribulations of my latest divorce escapades i present to you Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. c'mon, you know you can feel it....

ah monday......

mondays suck, especially after you stay up till 11 o'clock at night watching your football team get embarrassed on national tv. sometimes i swear i should just root for the bengals, they stand a better chance of actually doing something in the next fifty years.....blah

well i didn't do much this weekend except laundry and work and play a little magic and even less fallout. i'm currently a level 4 wanderer and time hasn't been a premium for me the past week but when you need to get some frustration out, fallout isn't exactly the type of game you can just hop into and kill something immediately, or at least not yet based on my level. so GoW2 is looking more enticing, especially horde mode and i am going to wally world today to stock up for thanksgiving week, not to mention i need a computer desk, sitting at the damn patio table for the past couple months is damn uncomfortable, so who knows, we shall see.....

did you know that by using a quart sized ziploc bag, two eggs, and whatever ingredients you like (for me it's cheese, sausage, ham, mushrooms and pepperoni) and a pot of boiling water you can make a no-mess omelette? yup, it's awesome. you boil the water (duh), crack your two eggs into the bag, shake the bag to mix the eggs, than add your ingredients into the bag and shake again. once the water is boiling, after pressing all the air from the bag insert your bag for 13 minutes (keep an eye on it, as i walked away and the top of the bag fell over the lip of the pot and melted, heh) into the boiling water. after 13 minutes, open the bag and out slides your omelette, perfection! and damn tasty i might add.

so everyone is doing turkey this year but not i. not going to see family, not going to see friends so i will be home on turkey day. the plan is to make a nice huge dish of lasagna and follow it up with making a cheesecake (no spring-form pan tho). i have the entire next week off so sunday will be spent with my house-maid's dress on (yes, the cute french maid outfit ladies) watching football, drinking beer, cigarette hanging from my lip and cooking. this single thing is starting to have some strange effect on me and i think i like it......

ah addiction..........

my old friend, welcome back.......so i took a day and night off from ye olde xbox as when i woke up tuesday morning at 6, after going to bed at 3, my eyes had that weird 3D mode going on where if you focused on one point for more than 10 seconds it would kinda do a bubble out effect and that's when i figured, well better put the crack pipe down. so i did just to prove it to myself that i could but last night i picked it back up and was immersed in FO3 for a couple hours on the first level alone and then downloaded the Left 4 Dead demo which i'll give a whirl later on today, i did watch the intro and it looks insane and a hoot to play.

to totally switch gears, i love the holiday season, before transferring into my current role i managed a team of 3rd level tech support folks and would travel between raleigh, nc and austin tx two weeks out of each month. i would rarely take vacation as there was always some issue that needed resolved but i always took the week of thanksgiving and the week of and the week after christmas for myself to mentally recharge and keep my perspective. there's also some miscellaneous days throughout the year i would take but never more than one day off before the holidays. so that being said i am extremely pumped to be single (not officially yet - have to wait till April) and have 3 weeks of vacation to do nothing but play video games! muwhahahahaha, i rule! does anyone else see the pure geekness of this? i just re-read it and i'm thinking, hmmm, 3 weeks of vacation and not one mention of womenz....ummm...yea, you'll have to read back a few blogs but unless i want to sneak around to get my freak on, i'd rather just wait until everything is official and then go whole hog, besides i need the time off from relationships anyways, time to recharge my emotional batteries so to speak.

i have also joined up with gamefly and have the first two games coming that should be here today, ninja gaiden and devil may cry 4. sweetness, just sweetness. i'll eventually look into maybe joining a clan but there's so many multi-platform clans out there that play a lot of halo and now GoW2 that i'll probably have to pick one of those up as a permanent game before seriously looking. right now, i'm just having some fun. in the immortal words of billy idol, i'm just dancin' with myself.

i look forward to eventually getting out on xlive and getting to know some of you better than just reading your blogs but until then peepas........

wait.........is that daylight?

so, after posting yesterday i immediately went back into fallout3 and it ate me for lunch, shat me out and i begged for more. my eyelids are propped open with toothpicks and the caffeine in the coffee has failed to kick in and neither has the rockstar drink i guzzled just a bit ago........i usually like some rails on my rpg gaming but the openness of this game is astonishing. i have played this game since sunday night, 95% of yesterday (well, i did have to shower and eat and even forced myself to play some kung-fu panda) and i plan on going back tonight, and tomorrow night and then i have all day thursday with it as well but there's just one thing, i suck at it. lol. i'm a level 4 saint or something and got lost in arlington national cemetary, jumped back to arefu, unsuccessfully tried to kill the trader (i got ganked instead) and then just had to finally shut down at about midnight. then i threw in burnout3: takedown and that sucked me in for another 3 hours.....sigh, i don't think i'll be seeing my PC clannies any time soon as i plan on restarting fallout3 and give it some much needed attention to detail on my character development.

now i'm thinking of GoW2 and granted it's been a while since i've done any FPS with any consistency, UT: GOTY was the last, i tried UT2004 just couldn't get back into it....so now maybe i'll pick that up and hit some peeps for some adds......or maybe see what this whole rock hero thing is about......hmmmm, possibilities abound

now i've gone and done it........

after a day full of watching football and grilling outdoors and cooking indoors and playing a little MTGO with my clannies, i ventured over to best buy for their reward zone member special sale from 8:30 - 10:30. it's no wonder circuit city cut almost 500 jobs this past friday and is closing a lot of their stores. circuit city sucks, their customer service sucks, their in-store pick up service sucks and i just feel like i've walked into a ghetto whenever i've gone in there and that was last Christmas....anyhoo....i'm walking around, looking for techie gifts for family members for the holidays, found a few and then this huge irresistable urge came over me......i looked to my left and there sitting on my shoulder was a little xbox 360 devil, something tugs at my right earlobe and i turn my head in that direction and lo and behold, there sits a ps3 devil looking all svelte and sexy with her blue-ray hanging out.......i wait a few minutes while each of them whisper sweet nothings and untold promises into my ears and, ashamedly, i got a woody from it ;) how do you explain that to a CSR that's asking you if there's anything she can do to help? and it makes it triply more uncomfortable that she's hot...i just mumble and look away red-faced saying something about no, i'm ok, really, thanks.......so after furious debating i pop my wad on the....

yup, the 360 so my fellow phreaks and geeks, i've purchased a 12 month gold membership, have kung-fu panda, lego indiana jones, PGR4 (the first two came with the xbox, the 3rd came with the live membership) and i succumbed and bought Fallout3; of which i was up playing until 3 in the morning. lego indiana jones sucks, i don't understand how little kids would want to play this game or adults but anyway........i'm hooked on F3 and since i just happen to have the day off today and another day off on Thursday, guess where i'll be? that's right, naked on my bean bag chair, eating cheetos, drinking jack and coke and playing some F3!

boredom.....

i abhor being bored, i loathe it, i detest the very fabric of existence that it occupies.....it's like a 400 lb pink gorilla just staring at you while you wonder if you have the ability to get up and run from it before it gets off its fat lazy ass and swallows you whole. at least that would be exciting in some fashion......so i sit and i surf and i read and do a modicum of work to ensure that people know that i'm still in this office apparently "doing something, he's on this or that project". ha! they are fooled! i have been "pegged" for a plethora of projects but haven't been assigned any to begin work on yet. it's like being the nerd at a strip joint debating whether or not to walk up to the pole dancer and give her a tip....do you stand up and show the world your boner or do you sit there and try and bully your other nerd friend into going up and doing it even though he has the exact same boner you have but doesn't want to admit it either. you eventually get nowhere and walk out secretly ashamed of your manhood but bragging to your buddies that next time that hot chick won't know what to do when you slap that 2 dollar bill on her or flip her that john f. kennedy dollar coin.

i'm still torn on my console decision btw but the 360 is slowly outdistancing the PS3. there's a special members only thing going on at best buy this sunday nite that i'm going to go to and look around and that will probably be where i make my decision. stay tuned peepers......

on a side note, i'm glad this farkin' election is over and we have a new president, the turnout was impressive and the riots i expected in the street never occurred tho i mob of people actually shut down a main road for two hours afterwards "in celebration". i'm sorry but a planned gathering that spills out onto the streets in celebration and ends up stopping and/or diverting traffic simply because a new president is elected? that's like.....i don't know what it's like, i lost my train of thought but i'm just glad it didn't get out of hand and end up on the national news. oh and in case you're wondering, i voted but i voted for the "other" guy and not the 70 year old that needed a nap to stay awake all night to watch his election hopes go down the shitter. anyhoo, not trying to go on a political rant or blog, i voted, nuff said.

what? oh yea, boredom. some may think; "well do something about it". i have. the company i work for is in a state of flux since we just acquired another corporation last month and they're still shaking things out on the R&D side and that's when i'm supposed to be utilized, after the big wigs get their thumbs out of their butts and advance on a go forward plan of action. until then i guess i'll just take the monthly salary and run.

to xbox or ps3 or not

well the bug is back and i've been looking and scouring ads again.....one of the main reasons i've been holding off from purchasing either system is that i lean more towards the xbox but i want blu-ray too. for all intents and purposes xbox is not going to release an xbox with a built-in blu-ray nor will they release an add-on blu-ray (god that's a lot of hyphens) player so my thoughts of purchasing an xbox arcade and the add-on go right out the door and anyways the pricing would have been about the same to upgrade to the pro anyways........than on the flip side we have Sony saying that the ps3 will possibly be the last gaming console that they will produce. sooooooo, imagine my quandry, especially with some of the holiday deals going on right now between dell and wally world (wal-mart for those not in the know) on the xbox.......it doesn't make my decision any easier and i just saw a deal on dell for a pro 360 with Lego Indiana and Kung Fu Panda and 5 arcade live games for like $250 but it's now expired but if it comes around once it'll come around again and i do have a charge account with dell.........so unless i hear any arguments that sway my thinking i do believe i will treat myself to a 360 as a combination birthday/christmas present! yes i'm a cheap bastard but i find a way to rationalize it ;)

humpty day

ah, mid-week hump day, the day of the week that's most important other than friday to most people. for me, this is tuesday and my saturday is actually friday. it sucks working two jobs and 80 hours a week but you do what you gotta do. at least i enjoy my second job, which is working at a repair/gas station 3 nights a week and saturday morning/afternoon. i get to learn another trade for free, put to use my accounting skills i wasted 4 years of my life studying for but never got the degree (i keep the books, etc) and overall earn some extra bread UNDER the table. yup that's right, fuck the IRS, it pays to know people, heh. but that's a story for another time.

i'm fairly settled into the new pad now and overall, for a barrio type environment, it's pretty quiet and people leave me alone, which is great. i'm not exactly a social butterfly so the less they leave me alone the better ;) i was sifting through some boxes and came across my old original 360 complete with wireless controllers and games! Rocky (heh, it's inane but i enjoy it), burnout 3:takedown (still awesome imo) and two others that i didn't even get to becuz burnout3 consumed me. i was able to put the new console bug behind me, at least until christmas but now it's back and worse than ever so i've been hunting up prices on bundles and price breaks and wondering where i can cut corners on expenses, heh. the answer to that is nowhere, i'm pared to the bone. but i do have a hundred dollar best buy gift certificate coming from trading in 42k worth of mariott points since i don't travel for work anymore, and with my birthday (on thanksgiving this year, gobble gobble) and christmas coming up, i've already laid the ground work for more best buy gift certificates as presents! so yea, i should be set if i can just withhold from the maddening urge to whip out the charge card and go spastic on an elite 360 with all the bells and whistles......soon my precious, sooooooooon

weekend stuff

woooooo! made it thru another weekend! did laundry, got silly with friends and had good friends return from vacation and recount tales of oceanside bar singing and premature cannons going off in fort sumpter. doesn't get much more fun that, heh. plus i grilled some mean ass pork chops, added in some scrambled eggs, english muffins and of course jack daniels and you have a feast fit for a king! yum x2! just an observation but the eagles always sound better with a buzz going...........looked thru some pix my mom sent, pix of me as a baby, a kid, a tten and as an adult......amazing the changes that a person goes thru in their life phsyically and mentally and spiritually.....memory lane sucks and i don't recommend it unless you have a good shrink.......the redskins won but just barely, for a team that racks up over 300 yards offense and holds a team to 200 yards or less in offense you would think they would win by more than 3 points, especially when one guy rushes for close to 200 yards in a game......but a win is a win is a win!

back to work tomorrow and enjoy the boredom of my position but given the economic times we're going thru i should be thankful i have a good paying job and security along with it so i won't bitch much but i absolutely hate being bored off my ass for 60 hours a week.....time to start looking for something else i suppose.....but hey it pays the bills and enables the lifestyle that i'm slowly becoming accustomed to.......for the third time i might add, heh. for those in the know you know what i mean ;)
