Sex and the City

‘Sex and the City’ finally arrives in theatres today and I am ecstatic. I’m over the top happy that once this day passes, the marketing hype that has surrounded this film will be gone.

I don’t fully understand why this movie was so heavily marketed. Isn’t the target audience already built in? Don’t the marketers know that any fan of the series is going to be there on opening weekend regardless of the advertising budget? It’s almost as if they wanted a backlash against this movie by constantly reminding those that could care less (men) of its existence.

I know that I won’t be anywhere near a theatre this weekend because of this movie and the resulting packs of women with fresh blood on their fangs. I fear for the men that haven’t realized of the lurking danger ahead of time and wander into their path. Just fragments of male self-esteem littered everywhere. The horror!
