I've been banned!!

Well just my 360 has been banned.I deserve it.I've been bad.My box has been so modded its not funny. I doubt it was the unofficial 120 gb hdd ive been using, probably the unofficial dvd fw.If you dont see me on live then you know why.I do have another unbanned box but I'm gonna wait till the storm blows over before risking it.gotta hand it to MS they are good at keeping their equipment from being modded.Sony has done well so far with the ps3 but failed miserably with the ps2 and psp.

I knew it was coming sooner or later!

Well I thought it would come someday and it happened monday when i went to fire up the 360.

I played a few hours the night before with a very graphic intense game(that hasn't been released yet) and everything was fine when I powered off the console."Maybe cliffy was right?" twitter.com/cliffy_b/status/967966411

I checked all the cables,power brick and no joy.I did a little research and found out how to get the failure code which I think was 0020.Sending this unit back to MS really wasn't a consideration as the console has been modded and apart many times.I had to adjust the pots on the dvd drive many months ago when the drive was having difficulty reading dics.That was quite a challenge but all came out well.

After some more research and figuring I had little to lose, I tore my 360 completly apart. I needed to get a torx T-6 to get the tiny screws out that hold the heatsinks and ir panel off the front,I had everything else.I planned to do the work that this article sugests. www.instructables.com/id/Fix-the-Red-Ring-of-Deathwithout-towels/

Removing the x clamps from the heatsinks was a pain and my washers were to wide and cleaning off the old thermal goo from the cpu and gpu was a pain in the ass,but after all the work and re assembly the thing fired up all green and has been running great ever since!

This seems to be a good fix for the wayyyy to common problem of the heatsinks and gpu/cpu losing there connection and causing the rrod.Those x clamps just dont do the job well.

My first and maybe my last!

Well I've been on here trying to figure out all this blog stuff but I'm not very good at it. Consider this a trial run.Not much exciting in my life to write about,but I did recently come back from a vacation in Belize.
